The Kukis belong to the Kuki-Chin-Zo ethnic group that inhabits some of the hill districts of Manipur and adjoining Mizoram as well as the Sagaing and Chin provinces of Myanmar. #Kuki form about 30% of the state’s population. (3/15)
The Nagas form about 15% of the state’s population and have been demanding the integration of their areas with Nagaland state, a demand that is vehemently opposed by both Kukis and Meiteis.(4/15)

Due to illegal immigration from Myanmar, the population of Kuki is increasing rapidly, and Meitei population is continuously decreasing. 2011 census has shown a decadal growth of 39.54% among tribal communities compared to just 15.72% in valley that’s dominated by Meiteis.(6/15)
The Meitei community (SC/OBC) demanding ST status for a long time & the other tribal communities (Kuki, Naga) have been consistently opposing the inclusion fearing the loss of job opportunities. Meitei was listed as a tribe of Manipur before it merged with India in 1949. (7/15)

Anti-India and Misinformation propaganda spreaders accounts from different countries mainly from Pakistan and Gulf are setting up their fake narrative against India as usual by giving it a religious clash angle. (12/15)
Notorious fake news spreader Ashok Swain also ran his Anti-India agenda as expected, giving it a religious angle to incite communal violence in the state by showcasing only one side of the clash. (13/15)
Kuki IT cell and #Fake Pakistani accounts are spreading videos with false claims and most of them are fake, old or computer-generated. (14/15)
This was never Hindus vs Christians. It is about illegal migrants from Myanmar posing as Kukis and occupying protected land & misusing the ST status while the Meitei community was deprived of its rights. We appeal to residents of Manipur to stay calm during #ManipurOnFire (15/15)
