@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity Gurl, I’m making the best of an unexpectedly bad situation 😂

If we’re HONEST about momlife,
more women will be ready for it.

I believe
INFORMED CONSENT
is the key to getting the
right job candidates.
Momlife is unpaid labor.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity To be clear:
I am smiling and happy when I’m NOT being elbowed in the gut/insulted/ignored/shushed/scolded for “making the wrong dinner”/screamed at for reminding the kid to brush/etc.

These are newer school-age kid struggles that I WELCOME
compared to the baby trenches! 😂

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity But I’m NEVER
doing the baby trenches again
bc fool me once,
shame on you.

I was VERY angry at society for pressuring me into a lifestyle
that I absolutely hated.
And the #momlife claims
were all false pretenses.

I was mislead.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity And I’m not the only one.

Its VERY common for women standing around parks to share horror stories about what they’ve been going through while the toddlers hit each other & run into walls at the playground.

Back in the day b4 the internet,
these were hush conversations.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity These days,
women are used to
respect and safety.

The average age to have a kid is 27.
This means women spend their 20s enjoying life, earning credentials, building a career. Traveling.
Enjoying DINKlife.

We’ve been educated to
know our worth as people.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity By our late 20s,
most women recognize
abusive relationship red flags.

What society DOESN’T explain,
is that these res flags
are mostly THE SAME
as the parent-toddler relationship.

NORMAL for momlife.

What do we think of when
we think of healthy relationships?

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity We are trained to
RUN THE OTHER WAY when ANYBODY treats us poorly.

Family? Bye bye.
Boss? Quit and report.
Toxic & hostile conditions are unnecessary red flags;
problems to be fixed by professionals, like the labor board, or an abusive partner’s psychiatrist.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity So for many women who got to enjoy safety, freedom, and respect for a decade or so before breeding:

Momlife qualifies
as a abusive situation.

Lets compare notes of
NORMAL child development.
apa.org/act/resources/…

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity After a couple beers MOST new parents will admit this one.

Dealing w a young child is TERRIFYING.
You have to walk on eggshells.

They go from zero to hitting for the stupidest reasons, like
“THATS NOT HOW
I WANTED MY TOAST!!”
or
“I HATE THIS TOOTHPASTE”
They break stuff.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity Any parent
who has asked a young child
nicely
to stop CHOKING THEM
knows this one.

Children will poke you
IN THE EYEBALL
and laugh
when you say ouch.

Empathy takes YEARS of practice.

Next: Isolation

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity Kids are just kids.
And we all know
that these are their
NATURAL behaviors.

But that doesn’t change the fact that they ignore you until you pick up the phone & say hello to an old friend. THEN THEY START YELLING.

The isolation is a side effect.
They DON’T LET YOU.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity “Get that out of your mouth!”

“Uh hub moffing en mo moff”

“Stop jumping on the couch”

“We weren’t jumping!”

Kids are like nonstop doing this
😂
AND ITS SO FRUSTRATING😭

They prevent basic communication on purpose bc nobody has taught them social skills yet. WE have to.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity The hardest
is when you feel
frustrated for too long
bc the kid is ignoring you,
making messes,
breaking things,
running away from you,
& you’re trying to do
basic body care for them.

And you NEED A MINUTE.
& they WON’T let you tap out
or trade places w a partner.

@LMMammita @TheBasedTrinity If WE as society
teach girls
ACCURATE momlife,
instead of the
“this is the BEST job!” bull,
then we’d be
MORE
HONEST
about what
#parenthood IS.

Honesty creates happier families because it prevents all the anger
that forms naturally when
we realize we were deceived.
