The many death threats that Harvey Milk received didn't stop him from advancing the concept of equal rights. His bold and outspoken message was an incredible show of bravery.
Harvey Milk's speeches and statements were nothing short of iconic – and so powerful that they've continued to reverberate down the ages. His 'Hope' speech is almost as relevant today as it was in 1978.
After his death, his nephew Stuart and campaign manager Anne founded the Harvey Milk Foundation (@HMilkFoundation), to continue his work.
@HMilkFoundation We remember Harvey Milk's legacy today, but as LGBTQ+ people, we feel it every day. We are incredibly grateful to him for his tireless and incredibly brave activism. Rest in peace, Harvey.
