I’ve had such a fun year telling science stories with wonderful people around the world 😊 so wanted to say thanks with a thread of some 2017 highlights! 🙏

Kicking off with @BBCEarth & @aluciaprod who I had the real privilege of working with on #blueplanet2 🌍 #ourblueplanet

@BBCEarth @aluciaprod Next up is the @cbbc #BluePeter team - they are just fantastic & it’s always a laugh + mega exciting to do science items on such an amazing show

(This year incl giant foamy 🌈 fountains + the epic zipline dangling from just the friction between two interleaved books!)

Thanks to the @BBC_Teach team for the two really great #bbcterrificscientific #bbclivelessons. Live is always very fun, especially when it involves super speedy 🏎 or a misbehaving 🐪 & 🐍!!

We’ve been on loads of #edventures for @maddiemoate’s YouTube channel incl ‘How does rice grow?’🍚 & ‘Turtle Conservation’🐢 in Bali, ‘Rhino Keepers’🦏 at @portlympnepark, ‘Moana’s Canoe Plants’🌸 at @edenproject, programming with 🎃s for Halloween & many more!

Oh and we did the 🤖 Robot Zoo 🦑series @HornimanMuseum including ‘Why is it so hard to catch a fly?’😩 & How does a chameleon change colour?’🦎 - all at youtube.com/maddiemoate

Such an honour to write & host a concert with the 80 piece BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra 🎻 @BBCSSO exploring music🎼, the universe🌞, and everything🐋 Thanks for that incredible opportunity!

There was a lot of messy fun 🌋 had doing experiments from the new ‘George’s Marvellous Experiments’ book with @PuffinBooks & @roald_dahl 📖 incl a live w @MumsnetTowers 👍

I got to meet some fantastic scientists around the world and help tell their stories for a second YouTube series I host for the @AXAResearchFund @discoverAXA - out next year!

I released 2 pilot eps of my podcast @SlicedBreadPod which investigates bold claims made by promising products. Ep1 probiotics (incl Yakult) ft @edyong209, Ep2 wake-up lights ft Prof Russell Foster. Supported by @senseaboutsci’s #AskForEvidence & @wellcometrust . More next year!

I not only met the legends that are @JasonBradbury @cakesmyth & Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock while hosting the @BigBangFair National Awards at @thenec, I also met some incredible young scientists & engineers whose projects were SO inspiring. I’ll be back hosting again next year 😊

I was so so impressed by both the #YoungImagineers’ inventions for how to make tomorrow a better place when I judged @Statoil’s competition, and the comms skills of the fantastic kids in the @FameLab Academy 🙌

Thank you @LivingPaintings for inviting me to voice one of your science books for the blind & visually impaired 😊, and to @whizzpopbangmag for the invitation to contribute to your brilliant kids’ science mag 🔬🖌👍

Oh and what an experience it was hosting the Drivetime radio show for @heartkentradio for six months 🎙 I learnt the new craft of radio and prepped & presented over 300 hours of live radio!
