By popular demand, the #coolchange is moving around half hour to an hour faster than anticipated - see update. Through #Melbourne around 2:30-3pm. Already through #Geelong with a 10°C drop in as many minutes. #Melbweather ow.ly/ChRu30hS3IM

#Coolchange at the top end of the bay, should reach Docklands shorly and CBD around 2pm. #Melbweather Unfortunately the change is really struggling to push inland, not yet at Hamilton in the southwest. ow.ly/Blzz30hS64k

UPDATE The so called #coolchange is slowing and really struggling to make an immediate impact inland. The shallow cooler air heating rapidly as it moves slowly inland. Colac, just behind the change still near 40°C. ow.ly/ogxl30hS7FE

12 degree difference currently across the metro area. Change remains slow moving and it will take several hours to cool inland following the change. Thunderstorms in the northwest may provide local relief from the #heat, winds likely to be gusty. ow.ly/KrZZ30hSaIt
