I thought this video was fake until I saw it from a verified account.

America, think really, really hard about any organization that tells you fellow Americans are the enemies. We are neighbors, friends and communities with different points of view.

Does this video make you feel like you have an enemy or you are an enemy?

Why would any organization try to get you to have such a visceral, emotional reaction to other Americans?

This is not ok.

This is the opposite of patriotism.

This is not who we are.

The last time we disagreed with weapons instead of words, we had a civil war.

Is that what you want? Do you want to shoot your neighbors over ideology? Do you want a "clenched fist" because you wear a MAGA hat and the other person prefers a pink knitted one?

Do not let an organization manipulate you into loathing fellow Americans.

Do not let them harness your fears & frustrations into something darker.

If this commercial makes you dislike anyone other than the producer of it, you are being manipulated.

If you feel anything other than horrified by this commercial, it's time to start reaching out.

Meet up for coffee with someone new.

Check in on an elderly neighbor.

Join a meetup group.

Volunteer at a food pantry.

Be who we are before we forget what really makes us great.

I did not anticipate how much attention my tweets would get.

I challenge you to use the motivation you got from this message to pick a better government. This about what you want your congress to be.

This is #Mycongress...

It's not about blue or red, we are both, and purple - we are a spectrum. Find candidates you want doing the job.

There are good Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Greens, Independents...there is probably a good whig or two running around. There are not good ones too.

Good, reasonable, qualified (boring) candidates *are* running.

If you think you belong in office, run. If you know being in office isn't your thing, support who should.

Stop supporting toxic, sensational news. It's delivered left and right. Demand more.

Widen your spectrum of news you take in. Creating comfortable self-selected news invites indoctrination. Don't do that.

Learn.

Engage.

Reward responsibility.

Deserve the government we want.

Deflection is the sword of embarrassment.
