What's the hidden agenda behind opening up of Cantonment Roads & thereby compromising #CanttSecurity? Have a look at Press Release reg encroachment of Defence Lands across India. Over 13000 acres of Prime Real Estate.

2/n Across India, there are 2724 Grant Bungalows under illegal occupation;most of which are used for commercial activities in connivance with officers of #DefenceEstates & @SpokespersonMoD . Despite Supreme Court judgement, no action is being initiated by MoD to reclaim the OGBs.

3/n As you clearly see from the extracts of the CAG report below, rampant misuse, unauthorized conversions into hotels/restaurants/commercial establishments of OGBs is in vogue. What's more? Illegal sale of such valuable govt real estate is also going on unchecked.

4/n Mis management of Leases of Defence Lands. Massive recurring losses to the Govt due to deliberate delay/non renewal of leases of Defence Estates. Do have a look at the CAG findings below. Damning!

5/n Let's take Delhi as an example of this fraud being imposed on the country. Find below the details compiled by Armed Forces authorities and forwarded to @SpokespersonMoD for further action. If this be the norm, one can imagine the magnitude of loss at the National level.

6/n I have two questions to ask here.
1. Who are the beneficiaries of this loot that is being imposed on us?
2. Who is responsible for facilitating/allowing this to happen?
The answer is Defence Estates & @SpokespersonMoD acting in connivance, as indicted by CGDA & CAG.

7/n In 2010, Comptroller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) recommended disbanding of the corruption ridden Director General of Defence Estates (DGDE). This was under active consideration by @DefenceMinIndia . Fast forward to Circa 2018. 🤔

8/n Illegal colonies along & within Cantonment boundaries, created by the land mafia in connivance with officers of DGDE & local politicians have mushroomed. These irregularities are being sheltered by @SpokespersonMoD officials. Opening of Cantonment Roads is a further step to..

9/n...facilitate & protect these gross violations and illegalities.

10/n ...stakeholders (read local military commanders) involved in this bizarre decision. This is in contravention to @SpokespersonMoD claims that Local Military Authorities were consulted before finalisation of this order.

11/n...@SpokespersonMoD can move with such efficiency and alacrity to push through this order with malafide intent in a span of two months. If such alacrity was shown to the genuine grievances & issues of the Armed Forces, we would have been a much happier fraternity!

n/n In the light of this, we would request the Honble Supreme Court to take suo moto cognisance of this fraud being conducted & order a court monitored impartial investigation into this case.
We would also request @PMOIndia to step in, cancel the order & restore status quo ante

SGS Mall in Pune Camp👆. Constructed on Def land after demolishing an OGB. This was done in connivance with Def Estates & @SpokespersonMoD officials. No action is being initiated to reclaim the land or even recover rent despite repeated reminders by Military authorities.
