I wouldn't be surprised to see some not-insignificant primary carnage in Oklahoma tonight, a state wracked by budget dysfunction under GOP rule. I'm counting 10 state legislative incumbents currently trailing their primary challengers there: nytimes.com/interactive/20…

I count six Oklahoma GOP incumbents who outright lost their seats in primaries tonight: #SD40 (Yen), #HD33 (Babinec), #HD37 (Vaughan), #HD65 (Park), #HD67 (McEachin), #HD69 (Strohn).

At least another *11* have been forced into runoff elections: ok.gov/elections/supp…

On top of all this, one Oklahoma Republican incumbent, #HD12's Kevin Dugle, currently leads his challenger by just 4 votes with 17/18 precincts reporting: ok.gov/elections/supp…

Conversely, it doesn't look like a single Democratic incumbent in the Oklahoma state legislature was defeated in a primary tonight (or forced into a runoff).

This anti-incumbent bloodbath was aimed in one direction only.

Just as a late update to this thread, & to close the loop on OK #HD12, GOP incumbent Kevin McDugle is clinging to a 3-vote lead over his challenger with all precincts now reporting: ok.gov/elections/supp…

2 GOP incumbents in OK were defeated by candidates with Dem ties:

▪️Greg Babinec (#HD33) lost to John Talley, whose wife ran against Babinec as a Dem in 2016
▪️Steve Vaughan (#HD37) lost to Ken Luttrell, who used to hold the same seat as a Dem until Vaughan beat him in 2010

One more: Toni Hasenbeck, a 7th grade teacher who ran for OK #HD65 as a Democrat in 2014 (and narrowly lost), defeated GOP incumbent Scooter Park last night.
