An early wake-up call this morning but this is the reward - a beautiful backdrop in Waikiki. As the sun rises, so does Honolulu, people already hitting the beach and surf ahead of #Olivia. Things change tonight into tomorrow @KHONnews

All the way from Denmark, three generations are taking in their “dream vacation” here on Oahu before heading off to Maui. With #Olivia approaching, they’re getting as much in as possible before tonight @KHONnews

This couple just flew in yesterday from NYC. He’s from Cuba and grew up with hurricanes so as far as #Olivia goes, he isn’t too worried. They’re plans to hike, swim and relax aren’t changing...at least for now @KHONnews

And then there’s Larry. He’s lived on Oahu for more than 30 years. He tells me hurricane fatigue is real and that while many locals are prepared, he worries some may not take the warnings seriously @KHONnews
