1) In 1920s in an erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad, a communal organization called Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen was found with the tacit approval and backing of the Nizam himself.
2) Its stated aim was that of the upliftment of Muslims. But By 1940s organization made it abundantly clear that its real aim was to create a totalitarian Islamic state in Hyderabad and to reduce Hindu majority by their mass scale conversion to Islam.
3) 3) Around 1947 when Princely states were being integrated into India, Fanatic leader of organization - Qasim Razvi organized a brigade of militant volunteers - known as "Razakars" to further this dream of Islamic sharia state and to resist union with India.
4) Razakars unleashed horrible atrocities on the Hindus of Hyderabad which is well known. So confident those unruly Razakars were that they even harassed Hindus of neighboring territories of Madras and Bombay province and on occassions even killed soldiers of Indian army.
5) Qasim Razvi even went to Delhi and warned Sardar Patel that if India will dare to annex Hyderabad state they will find bones and ashes of one and half crores of Hindus living in Hyderabad state!

That dialogue has nicely been reenacted in movie Sardar.
6) On the side note while Razakar atrocities is well known, little known fact is that Communists also unleashed horrible atrocities on populace with different goals in mind. Later on they joined with Nizam against Indian state which was common enemy for both.
7) Anyway coming back, by end of 1948 situation was becoming alarming. Combined menace of Razakars and communists of Hyderabad was threatening to cut South India from rest of India. As Sardar Patel said it was an ulcer in the belly of India that needs to be taken care of.
8) In September 1948 Indian army launched Operation Polo and annexed Hyderabad state once and for all.

Last remaining vestige of Mughals was finally eradicated one and for all from the Deccan.
9) So what happened to Razakars and Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen?

Any other country would have made sure to thoroughly wipe out this cancer from its roots least it create a problem for the future...But India...India wasn't any country of the world!
Nehru's female friend Padmaja Naidu (d/o Sarojini Naidu) for instance hurled petty accusation against Sardar Patel and advocated to Nehru that Razakars including those facing charges for murdering Hindus should be pardoned to maintain communal harmony!
Sardar had to ask her not to interfere with the course of justice and sarcastically reminded her that only one sixth of the Razakars involved in atrocities against Hindus were being tried thanks to the lenient attitude of the Indian government!
11) But to the misfortune of India Sardar passed away in 1950.

Qasim Rizvi was eventually released from the jail in 1957 on a condition that he would leave India in 24 hours. But that wasn't the end Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen.
Before leaving, Rizvi passed the leadership of Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen to a lawyer named Abdul Waheb Owaisi - a former (Razakar)"volunteer" of the same organization.

Abdul Waheb Owaisi himself was thrown into jail for 11 months by Sardar Patel.
13) Abdul Waheb Owaisi however was smart enough to take advantage of secular rhetoric of Nehruvians. He dressed Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen in a burkha of secularism and relaunched it as a new organization.
14) This new organization was All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen - AIMIM! It is currently being led by Owaisi brothers - grand sons of same Razakar Abdul Waheb Owaisi.
15) AIMIM claims to adhere to the secular and nationalistic ethos of India. But it harbingers and espouses same original ambitions with which MIM was established and worked in early part of 19th century.
16) When Owaisi Brother boasted about capability of killing all Hindus if only given 15 minutes of open hand, one could clearly see reflection of Qasim Razvi's threat to Sardar Patel.

17) But thanks to the stupidity that is called Nehruvian secularism they can openly do that. Infact such great is the distortion that they can even claim Razakar Abdul Owaisi imprisonment as a "Sacrifice"
18) AIMIM is a jihadi organization. Every member and voter of it is a Razakar. But courtesy to "Secularism" they are sitting in parliament.

Lets Atleast make sure to always address Owaisis as Razakar Owaisi so that they know that we haven't forgotten the past!

Kashi changed its form due to Islamic invasions like many other northern pilgrimage centers. However how can it be justification to change Kashi again?

It is kind of ironic that Romila Thapar gave exact same argument for the justification of Islamic iconoclasm at Somnath!
That Somnath temple underwent changes over time due to natural and political factors and Islamic iconoclasm was but one such change. The so called RW today is justifying Kashi tourism resort under the same argument

Few decades ago a temple sprung up in the countryside of Uttar Gujarat. Temple is dedicated to one “Unteshwari Mata” meaning Goddess with Camel mount.

Soon it became a “Dham”/pilgrimage center. Entire list of Garba songs came up dedicated solely to this Unteshwari mata. 1/n
Guess who is this Unteshwari Mata ? She is Maria - mother of Christ!

Such a cleaver and deceitful appropriation of religion of locals that even the smart person can be filled. Imagine effect on rural simple hearted countryside Hindus! 2/n
And Now there is even a mela /religious fair dedicated to this Unteshwari mata!

If only there is a way to prevent this cultural appropriation!

Yes true that certainly happened with Zoroastrianism and Paganism. We are fortunate in that case. However it has also to do with different structure of Hindu society in general. Elitism in Hindu society was more dependent on social status than political status. 1/n
For eg Poor Brahmin could still be an elite in Hindu society. Converting means he lost even that privilege. Now he/she was just poor Muslim with no status! So while in other society elites converted to retain their status for a Hindu converting meant losing the elite status! 2/n
Also regardless of the status person was bound to his caste. Which made Individualistic conversions very hard. If a Kshtriya king would have converted to Islam he would lose support of his own clan/caste members who were his fighting force. 3/n

That is a recent Khalistani propaganda to whitewash History of Hinduism in Punjab. Flags and banners depicting Hindu deities are seen even in royal processions of Sikh generals and even emperors.

For eg painting below shows Maharaja Sher Singh’s Sawari. Look at his banners. ImageImage
Similarly look at the banners accompanying Hari Singh Nalwa on His military possession. He was the commander of Khalsa fauj and not some imagined Hindu regiment. Yet his Banners still depict same Hindu deities. Image
This is the real flag of Khalsa army that was captured by British and kept in British museum. As one can see it clearly depicts Mata Vaishnodevi , Bhairavnath and Hanuman as depicted popularly even today. Khalistanis stat that the flag belonged to some Hindu regiment ImageImageImage

A brief insight into the linguistic policy of the Mughal empire

- a common misperception is that Urdu was the imperial lingua Franca for the Mughal empire. Far from it Urdu or anything even slightly resembling to never played any such role at all
Fact is that It was Farsi/Persian that was the language of Mughal empire.

So If one can time travel to Mughal court one would hear What Akbar is speaking in this video song. Not the Urdu dialogues of Mughal-e-azam! Sounds totally alien, doesn’t it?

Mughals cherished Farsi so much that at one point an attempt was made to purge Farsi of even all the Arabic words.

If that was their stance for Arabic, one can easily imagine how they never cared for Urdu with its mixture from Hindi!

It’s #haryanadiwas....But What does Haryana mean for you?...For me it’s much much more than just a state of modern Indian polity...It is birth place of Kartikeya..birth place of Democracy..land of awesome warriors who fought Islamic invaders in style..wanna know more about it?
The name Haryana appears first in the inscriptions of medieval times...

For eg this Palam Baoli inscription from 1276 AD makes reference to the land of Haryanaka.

Palam is referred to as Palamba and yes it’s the same place where Delhi international airport is located today.
On the side note: donor of the Baoli was resident of Delhi which he refers to as Sri Yoginipur. His description of his ancestral homeland of Punjab and its rivers is equally interesting. Notice the ancient Hindu names of the rivers of Punjab
