Hey remember when Elon Musk said that someone attacked a car with his kid because of that account that tracked his jet and used it to justify banning several journalists? Well that was a complete lie.

theguardian.com/technology/202…
I’m other words - no matter what you think happened there’s zero link to the ElonJet account. He used this as an excuse to ban an account he didn’t like and lied about it.

Here’s the latest “bombshell” as told by Rubin and Musk. “The government paid Twitter to censor people!” What they’re claiming here is a lie and they know it… 🧵
The tweet in question shares a screenshot showing that Twitter was REIMBURSED by the FBI for complying with them.
This is standard practice U.S. Code § 2706. It’s not a dirty secret. You can argue that the amount is outrageous if you’d like. What you CAN’T conclude is “the FBI paid Twitter to censor people” because there’s no evidence of that.

It is getting very disheartening how disconnected people are from what the Twitter Files ACTUALLY say and what they WANT it to say. Some of these people are so far gone from reality and Musk is re-fueling their delusion. Absolutely fucking wild.
The latest Twitter Files shows internal messages surrounding moderators grappling with the then POTUS constantly tweeting misinformation leading to Jan 6th. It's messy as they clearly grapple with their own internal rules. But that's it.
There’s absolutely nothing to show that they tampered with the election except to moderate false “election fraud” claims. And then of course they go into panic mode after the ACTUAL physical insurrection attempt.

God Of War fans: the Blades of Chaos are one of the coolest and most unique weapons!

God Of War developers: Yeah but you know what’s REALLY COOL? An axe.
Oh wow this enemy can only be killed with your axe!

Strange! It appears that this door needs an axe to open!

Oh my! Even though you are using your other weapon it appears you respawned holding your axe!
I’m begging you God Of War, please for the love of everything stop trying to make me use the fucking axe

So, just to recap, there was nothing overtly wrong with Twitter before Elon Musk decided to buy it. He declared it broken, sank its share value, and locked himself into a ridiculous deal that put him into billions in debt…
…Once the deal went through, he fired all the people in charge, costing hundreds of millions in payouts. Then, to make up for all the debt, he’s issued massive and sudden layoffs (with lawsuits to follow) and began a hilarious plan to charge for a previously free feature…
If the website goes under, it will affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who rely on Twitter for business and self promotion as well as costing thousands more jobs. So much money will be lost…

I want to describe why the “mystery box” format tends to be very bad. And how to spot a bad one early. 🧵
While there’s nothing wrong with unraveling a mystery, often these shows use that as a way to hide very bad writing. Anything can happen that the writers need to happen, without explanation or motivation, so long as there’s a promise that “all will be answered eventually”.
In other words, they’re borrowing our time and promising to “pay us back” with answers if we are patient. By this rule, the more they bank in that mystery box, the more answers they owe us.
