So @RadioFreeTom’s whole shtick is that he is a True Conservative™ fighting in the wilderness against everyone else who has sold out & don’t believe in conservative principles anymore.
Let’s take a quick survey of his stances. I’ll let you decide if it’s actual conservatism. 1/
Abortion? I think his views on that have been pretty obvious in the current discussion, but you don’t have to take my word for it. And look at the way he talks to one of the best pro-life writers out there. Is this conserving conservatism? 2/
What about the Second Amendment? Apparently the conservative position on that is to misrepresent the position of pro-Second Amendment advocates, to argue for strict gun control, and to call on Senators to run gun manufacturers out of their states. Conservatism! Who knew? 3/
Okay so he’s socially liberal, but at least he’s fiscally conservative, right? Super concerned about the debt & deficits & stuff like that, right?
LOL. Nope. 4/
What about confirming originalist Supreme Court Justices? Well... no he doesn’t think that’s the conservative thing to do if the nominee gets angry when he’s baselessly accused of running gang rape rings. 5/
How about recognizing Jerusalem as the rightful capital of Israel? If you’re a real conservative, you “couldn’t care less.” 6/
The version of conservatism that @RadioFreeTom is Very Disappointed™ in the rest of us for not fighting for requires: being pro-abortion, pro gun control, meh on fiscal restraint, opposing an originalist SCOTUS nominee, and not caring about moving the embassy to Jerusalem. 7/
I’ll let y’all decide if that’s actually conservatism or not. But the bottom line is that Tom Nichols is Jennifer Rubin with more cats and a book on why he’s an expert. And he should probably be taken with that level of seriousness. /fin

CNN’s Reliable Sources host weighs in on Biden calling a Fox News reporter a stupid son of a bitch.
Stelter apparently thinks Trump calling a journalist a son of a bitch exposed reporters to “threats and intimidation” but Biden doing it should just be dismissed as a mere “blip.”
“Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, okay? … I’m telling you a very hard ugly truth… Of all the things I care about, yes it is below my line.”
—Chamath Palihapitiya (billionaire CEO of Social Capital & part owner of Golden State Warriors)
NEW: Biden misleadingly lumped the murder of Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans by Farrakhan follower Noah Green on 4/2/21 in with the Capitol riot of 1/6/21. Full remarks show how Evans is evoked without proper context in the middle of Capitol riot talk.
Pelosi: “Our fallen heroes of that day [January 6th]: Officer Brian Sicknick [died of stroke next day], Officer Howard Liebengood [suicide], Officer Jeffrey Smith [suicide], Officer Billy Evans of a later assault [murdered by Farrakhan follower in April].”
Imagine having the gall to describe a Talib takeover, a chaotic evac where Afghans fall to their deaths off planes, a suicide bombing killing 13 Americans & 200 Afghans, & a U.S. drone strike killing 10 Afghan civilians as “safely & effectively drew down our diplomatic presence.”
And of course no one at @CFR_org called him out for it — not @RichardHaass and not anyone else in the audience, despite Jake Sullivan giving a speech & taking questions for an hour.
I’m shocked that Strzok read something anti-Trump & ran w/ it instead of checking if it was true, but Meadows book is referring to rioters trying to tear down Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Park in late June 2020 — St. John’s arson & Trump photo next day were 3 weeks earlier!
Pete ain’t so great with the timeline of investigations that he himself opened, so I guess it is a little much to expect him to get other basic timelines right.
