NEW: Biden misleadingly lumped the murder of Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans by Farrakhan follower Noah Green on 4/2/21 in with the Capitol riot of 1/6/21. Full remarks show how Evans is evoked without proper context in the middle of Capitol riot talk.
Pelosi: “Our fallen heroes of that day [January 6th]: Officer Brian Sicknick [died of stroke next day], Officer Howard Liebengood [suicide], Officer Jeffrey Smith [suicide], Officer Billy Evans of a later assault [murdered by Farrakhan follower in April].”
Sicknick died of what the M.E. said was a natural death via a stroke the day after the Capitol riot. Liebengood died by suicide last January. Evans was murdered by a Farrakhan follower in April. Smith died by suicide last January. Hashida & DeFreytag died by suicide in July.
Imagine having the gall to describe a Talib takeover, a chaotic evac where Afghans fall to their deaths off planes, a suicide bombing killing 13 Americans & 200 Afghans, & a U.S. drone strike killing 10 Afghan civilians as “safely & effectively drew down our diplomatic presence.”
And of course no one at @CFR_org called him out for it — not @RichardHaass and not anyone else in the audience, despite Jake Sullivan giving a speech & taking questions for an hour.
I’m shocked that Strzok read something anti-Trump & ran w/ it instead of checking if it was true, but Meadows book is referring to rioters trying to tear down Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Park in late June 2020 — St. John’s arson & Trump photo next day were 3 weeks earlier!
Pete ain’t so great with the timeline of investigations that he himself opened, so I guess it is a little much to expect him to get other basic timelines right.
my on-the-ground report from my visit to NYC so far — the buildings remain tall. lots of people. will update as I learn more.
update: tall buildings. lots of people.
My grandfather was a NYC cop for decades, my dad was born in the Bronx, and I am walking around staring up at the pretty buildings around Times Square. I bring shame on my family.
So, DUNE. Along with Lord of the Rings, it has been among my fav books since childhood, & like the LOTR films, tho it made changes to the source material I was ??? about, it also similarly captured the gist & feel & power & imagination of the book, & what else can you really ask?
I like that DUNE took its time, focused on both world-building & story-building instead of rushing thru the whole book in one film, brought space & the future to life w/ care in ways akin to Blade Runner, 2001, Interstellar, etc., & did its best to capture the themes of the book.
