normalise crying
crying owns
your body comes with a free, harmless release valve for bad emotions that has no bad consequences for you except making your face a little wet
it is a valuable resource and people should not be discouraged from using it
the people who mock crying have a vested interest in making sure that vulnerability cannot be exposed and empathy (read: solidarity) cannot be built

crying doesn't make you less tough, it makes you more able to deal with shit, it makes you stronger
who is stronger? the person who has a problem and cries and then feels better, or the person who has a problem and bottles it up and continues feeling bad?

is it stronger for a hungry person to not eat? is it stronger for a sleepy person to stay awake?
You have been placed in the middle of a culture which expects you to display arbitrary signifiers of strength and confidence at all times

it is a deliberate method of social control designed to make people without power feel alienated,
if they knew everyone felt like then we might all get together and do something about it, but we think we're weak for feeling this way
social media is the culmination of this project, because now at all times you are expected to be advertising yourself, and there is a permanent record of every thing you say or do that everyone else polices.
prospective employers might be checking your facebook and twitter, so don't you DARE complain or do something that makes them think of you as a person rather than an employee
that sexy model on Instagram is happy all the time (as far as I know), why cant I be? it must be something wrong with me.

I better not say anything, or everyone will know.
Our labour was so successfully atomised, that now they're coming for our emotions. Our personalities.
So you either submit to the acceptable range of emotions, or risk your livelihood.

People say it's "brave" to talk about our bad emotions. They recognise that it is a risk. That it is stigmatised. They don't ask who benefits.
You get companies like Bell media launching mental health awareness campaigns while also firing people for taking mental health leave
you are forbidden from feeling bad, and the things which make you feel good are stolen, homogenised, and sold back to you in pieces

we are all leading half a life, the richness of the human experience is being stolen from us

Ge'ez, yeah, to find out that information you'd have to listen to anything anyone has ever said in the past two years.
Tim have a little faith in yourself, you don't need to feign ignorance, just rely on your incredible cache of genuine ignorance.
You should be very careful, because when you give out dangerous and deadly misinfo that only rubes will follow, you'll only be killing off your own audience.

One of the central contradictions of capitalism is that in order for it to function the people in charge of huge multi-national corporations are expected to act in the corp's best interests, but are incentivized to instead prioritize any short term gains over long term ones.
If you could make the corpo $10,000,000 over ten years, or $1,000,000 in one quarter in an unsustainable way that drains your resources and makes future revenue impossible, the corpo's best interest is for you to do the former but yours is the latter.
If you try to convince someone of the benefits of the long term approach, someone else is gonna eat your lunch and explain to your superiors that they could have fiscal growth RIGHT NOW

Can't work and can't relax just sitting and compulsively doing nothing

Executive dysfunction doesn't just mean you play video games a lot, sometimes you can't even do that
Putting in effort to put in effort, but failing
Once you put a name to the problem, you realize that it isn't just "how you are", but that you've been struggling with a disorder for your entire life and it had taken so much from you.

A lot of people have reached out to ask me why I didn't feature enough (any?) creators of colour in my ADHD video, and I'd put it down to two things:
1. I didn't communicate that that's something I was specifically looking for, therefore perhaps making marginalized people feel as though their submissions would be dismissed.

This is my mistake, and I'll do better in the future.
2. People of colour receive far worse medical care opn average, and thus are less likely to know they have ADHD let alone receive treatment for it.

This is part of why it is crucial to speak openly about ADHD and ADHD struggles.

Peter Coffin shut the fuck up challenge.
This numbnuts is now trying to present me as saying I think Lenin or Leninism is antisemetic, not that I think that Caleb is an antisemite.

Completely bad faith, an utter clown.
And all of you dipshits caping for the guy who claims that Israel controls american imperialism guiding it towards a calamitous war, you're either complete dupes or willful antisemites yourselves. likely both.

Feels to me like every system of government (or there lack of) relies on people behaving "correctly", and most charges of utopianism are pure projection.
"you assume people will just behave themselves without consequences, they need leaders to hold them accountable"
Yeah
But
Aren't you assuming the leaders will just behave themselves without consequences?
And if the people can create consequences for their leaders, aren't you assuming they won't use that power to do whatever they wanted to do without the leaders anyway?
