We’ve made changes to our assessments at KS3 thanks to @richkbristol and his article on ‘the return to formal assessment’. Across Y7-9 we’re combining knowledge with second order concepts and taking the time to up-skill student writing. 🧵#historyteacher

Students begin with a prep lesson that focuses on generic recall to enhance their writing and guided planning via the essay flow plans and focus on extraction of information from their books to form specific responses to suit the required second order concept. 🧵#historyteacher

Students will then complete the assessment. Initially there is a focus on multiple choice and short answers as a gateway and then, without their plan but from memory, students will attempt the extended question with feedback at the bottom to be ticked by staff. #historyteacher
