1. THREAD. We've been sent another batch of screen grabs from the online parent support group we tweeted about recently (vis-a-vis fake penises for children). The new batch of posts pertain to undergarments & other strategies parents use to conceal their children's male genitalia
2. Nine-year-old inconveniences, doctor's advice on downward tucking.
3. Pluses and minuses of being "well endowed" and brand advice from parents of kids who started tucking as young as 6.
4. Not dysphoric at age 6, no problem with penis. Mom got the tucking underwear. This is not an uncommon thing that some parents report. Why are such children considered the opposite sex by their parents? Who has encouraged them to think this way?
5. The two most popular lines of underwear recommended on these forums by parents who want to hide their young children's male genitalia seem to be Tuck Buddies & Leolines, both thriving Etsy stores. etsy.com/listing/584289…
6. None of this was happening in the US before 2007, when Dr. Norman Spack introduced puberty blockers at his Boston clinic. No 8000-member online groups of mothers sharing taping tips, or fretting over their kids' genitals.
Twelve years later: The US is Trans Kid Central.
7. While helping 9-yr-old "tape and tuck," mom notices a few pubic hairs on "her" testicles and worries it's time to puberty block. Others chime in with similar urgency.
8. Six-year-old asks what balls are, mom reassures that child is a "girl in a boy's body" and in a couple years there will be meds to take care of that.
9. Group tells mom to seek transgender support groups for 8-yr-old (trans since 6) who is distraught about having to undergo surgery later. Serious question: What is the impact on the mental health of a young child when adults point to a future of injections & genital surgeries?
Several antisemites have resurrected this tweet. Don't bother spewing your vile conspiracy theories here. Dr. Spack's religion has nothing to do w/ his work. Also, Dr. Spack believes he is helping young people. He's not a villain. Critique the practice, not the man.

One of the usual suspects is lying again about @TheAtlantic article which dared to profile some desister teens & their parents.“The social isolation of a child was described as a success in the story.” @Jennifer_star has pushed back on this lie previously
It’s encouraging that the Editor in Chief of @SwimmingWorld mag recognizes that what Thomas is doing is tantamount to doping. In his piece, he invokes Shirley Babashoff—a hero who took a lot of heat for speaking up about the East German scandal.
Would someone please provide evidence that *any* pro-youth-transition researcher has *ever* recruited study subjects from anywhere other than pro-youth-transition communities (online or otherwise)?
Essentially, those who criticize Littman’s new study on detransitioners now demand a “control group“ of detransitioners who support the main TRA narrative: that ppl detrans only due to societal or familial pressure. Otherwise, these detrans are just “ideologically biased.”
This is laughable. Every study conducted by “affirmative“ researchers like Kristina Olson or Johanna Olson-Kennedy recruit *only* a cohort of youth (and/or their parents) who have already decided on social or medical transition. No control group—ever.
THREAD: In light of this blockbuster interview, our source in the affirmative parents' FB group today sent us a thread from 2020, started by a parent worried about her 10-year-old "AMAB's" future sex life. 1/n bariweiss.substack.com/p/top-trans-do…
"I've heard anecdotally amab kids that take blockers at Tanner 2 & then hormones may be unable to achieve orgasm, and have yet to see any evidence to the contrary. Already, at age 10, they [won't have] genetic children. It breaks my heart they may have to lose anything else." 2/n
Others (including an "AMAB" parent) note there is no research on this--only anecdotes. "Your mileage may vary...some have plenty of function while others don't."
Dr. Marci Bowers, Jazz's surgeon, is mentioned. 3/n
“It is my considered opinion that due to some of the…sloppy, sloppy healthcare work, we’re going to have more young adults who will regret having gone through this process.” bariweiss.substack.com/p/top-trans-do…
In the surgeon’s case (who was one of the team who operated on Jazz), one has to wonder if ass-covering could be a motive for consenting to the interview. Better late than never?
