“It is my considered opinion that due to some of the…sloppy, sloppy healthcare work, we’re going to have more young adults who will regret having gone through this process.”

In the surgeon’s case (who was one of the team who operated on Jazz), one has to wonder if ass-covering could be a motive for consenting to the interview. Better late than never?
The issue of future sexual function in puberty-blocked kids has been ignored by the media in their zeal to promote underage transition. CNickens may be finally coming home to roost.
*chickens
Clinicians (like this one) have been experimenting on blocked minors for years…and musing on public Facebook pages about the fact that they **don’t freaking know** whether they have forever wrecked the future sexual function of their guinea pigs.
“I’m sure the Dutch are on it.”
“Affirming” parents in secret Facebook groups have also wondered whether their kids will experience sexual pleasure as adults. It’s about time the truth came out, thanks to this interview by @AbigailShrier . And to the fine Substack created by @bariweiss

THREAD: In light of this blockbuster interview, our source in the affirmative parents' FB group today sent us a thread from 2020, started by a parent worried about her 10-year-old "AMAB's" future sex life. 1/n
bariweiss.substack.com/p/top-trans-do…
"I've heard anecdotally amab kids that take blockers at Tanner 2 & then hormones may be unable to achieve orgasm, and have yet to see any evidence to the contrary. Already, at age 10, they [won't have] genetic children. It breaks my heart they may have to lose anything else." 2/n Image
Others (including an "AMAB" parent) note there is no research on this--only anecdotes. "Your mileage may vary...some have plenty of function while others don't."

Dr. Marci Bowers, Jazz's surgeon, is mentioned. 3/n Image

Thread. @AmerAcadPeds declared last week there were “no studies” to prove a young child surrounded by masked adults all day would be harmed psychologically or in language development. Now AAP are memory holing their OWN LITERATURE on the importance of “face time” for babies.
The @nytimes put out a propaganda OpEd cheerily claiming kids will do BETTER in school if they are masked.
Here’s @AmerAcadPed denying what any competent pediatric speech-language pathologist knows (see the many comments/quote tweets, which include studies of preverbal language development). As they are on pediatric transition, the AAP is stunningly wrong here.

Thread: The website @ScienceBasedMed came out with yet another hit piece on @AbigailShrier 's book today. As with the prior articles, this one is quite sloppy with the facts. @stevennovella please correct the following error (explained further in this thread):
Author (A J Eckert "(they/them) Connecticut’s first out nonbinary doctor") links to our 2015 piece which examined suicidality data from the 2008 U.S. Transgender Discrimination Survey, the source of the claim that 41% of trans ADULTS attempt suicide.
4thwavenow.com/2015/08/03/the…
Our article focused on the 2014 Williams Institute/American Foundation for Suicide Prevention analysis of the data, which, among other things pointed out that the 41% claim should not be interpreted to mean actual suicide attempts. In their words:

For years, your site has been the go-to for takedowns of quackery & pseudoscience. But by studiously ignoring the flood of detransitioners, particularly women who regret adolescent transition, you allowed @ScienceBasedMed to fall prey to confirmation bias. Disappointing.
Yes, some people benefit from transition. But your cavalier dismissal of the increase in tween/teen girls not just identifying as trans, but getting double mastectomies & irreversible hormone treatment, along with the voices of women like @lacroicsz & @ImWatson91 is inexcusable.
Are you even aware that several countries have slowed down if not banned underage medical transition? (see: Sweden and Finland) or that a UK High Court ruled in favor of a detransitioner @KLBfax who believes she was unable to give informed consent for the treatment she received?

Transgender certification organization announces workshop on detransition for mental health clinicians. Massive freakout ensues on International Transgender Health FB page.
facebook.com/groups/transge…
Read through the thread, & you'll see a common claim: We support detransitioners. Just not like THIS. Not THIS way.

Archived. Because it's "triggering" to even see the announcement of this event on a public Facebook page, the post may disappear soon.

This is a telling comment in the original post: "Warning: Even though this is directed at clinicians, it could trigger rage and dysphoria that may become overwhelming."

Overwhelming rage resulting from...the mere existence of a workshop on detransition? Rage? And then what?

Critically important article.

Trans activists will insist that this overreach by arrogant doctors awash in genderism is merely protecting troubled kids from "abusive parents."

This is the tip of the iceberg--and it's getting worse.
city-journal.org/transgender-id…
Unethical doctors & social workers work to damage relationships between struggling teens & their parents. Not "affirming" a teen's "gender identity" is all it takes now for a loving mom or dad to be labeled "abusive". Read every word of this article to see how bad it is.
Don't believe this is a problem? At a conference for gender professionals in 2017, multiple MDs & mental health providers discussed how they go about using the courts to overrule parents who hesitate to approve medical intervention for their distressed teens.
