'Tipu's brutal methods....engendered hatred between Hindus & Muslims. By 1792, law & order had been undermined. South Malabar was terrorized by Moplahs, who found safe retreat in the jungles of Ernad.'

Khilafat flags flown.
An Ali Mudaliar proclaimed Raja.
