HISTORY OF INDIAN IS ESSENTIALLY A HISTORY OF CASTE DISCRIMINATION.
The focus was on forces of exclusion, rather than on elements of inclusion.
For example, Bhakti movement is described as an act of 'low caste rebellion'. Its spiritual aspects have deliberately been ignored.

NO MENTION OF ANCIENT INDIA'S CONTRIBUTIONS in various fields.
Ancient India's well-developed knowledge systems in philosophy, grammar, literature, arts, science, medicine, astronomy, mathematics etc. have been totally glossed over.

Even if ancient Indian contribution in any discipline (say the work of an Indian astronomer) is acknowledged, a caveat is added that this rational aspect was due to contact with classical Greece or Arabia.
Otherwise, EVERYTHING ELSE IN ANCIENT INDIA WAS ESSENTIALLY IRRATIONAL.

There is hardly any mention of the Ahoms of North-East (600 years), Vijaynagar Empire in South (250 yrs) or Wodeyars of Mysuru (600 yrs) etc.
A minor Delhi dynasty like the Lodhis is described in sufficient detail though.

While the leftists claim to work for the marginalized, their history writing has NEGLECTED THE RICH HISTORY, CULTURE & HERITAGE OF THE MANY TRIBES OF INDIA.
This has lead to the diverse tribal communities of India, being erased from the public conscious.

There is hardly any mention of the role of Ghadar Movement, INA or the 1946 Naval Mutiny.

There has been a NARRATIVE FIRST, FACTS LATER approach towards writing Indian history.
Rather than let the sources (contemporary texts, inscriptions etc.) speak for themselves; they have been interpreted in a biased manner to suit the leftist narrative.

The leftist historians have demonstrated a TOTAL LACK OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS.
Historians who put forward an alternate narrative were not academically critiqued but personally attacked & isolated. This has lead to lot of reputations and careers being destroyed.

A history-writing which is more true to evidence and is respectful of the national sentiment, is the need of the hour.
The nationalist school of history writing of early 1900's, which countered the British distortions of Indian history, ought to be revived.

A dispassionate 'TRUTH & RECONCILIATION RE-TELLING' of the tragic history of Islamic invasions will help to heal the wounds of the past and also provide valuable lessons for the future.
