#NigeriaMessyPower Sector
-Gas producers are private sector owned, under yoke of FG fiat over gas prices to GENCOS
-Gencos partially owned by FG and private investors
-#NBET that owns the national grid is 100% FG owned
-Transmission Coy of Nigeria or TCN is owned by FG
-DISCOS partially owned by FG and private investors
-Customers owing DISCOS
-DISCOS owing NBET
-NBET owing GENCOS
-GENCOS owing gas producers #TCN doesn't have enough capacity to transmit all power generated by GENCOS
-DISCOS charges customers estimated billing to make up for power theft, debtors etc
-Gas companies ship gas overseas at competitive prices for $$ revenues
-NBET sells some power to neighbouring countries for rev for FG
-Thousands of MW generated for NBET cannt be taken up by TCN
-DISCOS fuming they cannot raise tariff locked down by FG
-TCN infrastructure inadequate and poor; no enough investments by FG that refuses to privatise it
-National grid or centralised power system is a monolith that FG finds difficult to let go
-Downstream, DISCOS and consumers in constant face-off over meters, transforners, power cables, electricity poles, etc.
-No clear-cut structure of who owns what power asset, repairs, replacement, etc.
-DISCOS upset with @NERCNG over licensing of new Meter Asset Providers or MAP
-MAP hamstrung by funding and no clear cut business relationship with DISCOS and consumers
The more I learn about the state of Nigeria's electricity transition market or industry, the more unhappy I become, in particular about the power distribution companies or DISCOs - poor/inexperienced marketers, account/field offiers, etc.
DISCOs'
-Know-Your-Customer (KYC) or territory not up to speed
-Customers' enumeration at low level
-Poor electricity industry knowledge or skill among officers/staffers
-Poor public information/communication engagements

Excuse me, please: Has the @nassnigeria leadership ask both Senate and Reps Committees on Security to set up ASAP a Joint Public (televised) Enquiry sittings for at least the past 3 Police IGs, DIGs, HM Police Affairs and the current ones, etc. to drill into #SARS etc affairs?
Civil society groups should also attend the Public Inquiry, while tight Witness Protection programme shoukd be made by @NigeriaGov for serving or former #SARS operative that wants to testify publicly or under sealed deposition in camera.

Just A Reminder: About 2 years ago, the security agencies issued a warning that we all took lightly, though widely reported in the media...
2) The agencies warned that as #BokoHaram insurgents and their camps are being decimated, some of the insurgents on the rub will head to the Southern parts of the country, some of them using COWS as cover to wreck mayhem. Can you folks @Google up this news item???
3) The Army and other security forces have made claims of over running #BokoHaram amd their territories in the North. But we are yet to ask: Where has the fleeing insurgents gone to?
