Maduro is back on state TV, wandering around what appears to be a military base outside #Caracas. He’s seen with top brass of the Venezuelan military.
Maduro is watching plans for a military exercise. State TV tells us that “the future of Venezuela is peace, not war.” The voice over these pictures of Maduro also says that “the world admires Venezuela for its steadfastness”.
Out of around 50 TV channels in my hotel room 18 (!) channels broke into their programming with footage of Maduro.
According to state TV, Maduro is in El Pao, in the Western state of #Cojedes, for a big military show of force and exercise.

This, in essence, is Guaidó’s message to the military: “Soldier of Venezuela, these are the people you need to defend.”

It’s now 3 PM here in #Caracas. @jguaido had called for peaceful protests, and they are so far. They are also very small. For now, it feels like their moment has evaporated.
