👋 from @MoveOn’s Big Ideas Forum in SF. 8 2020 candidates are here, where they will present one “big idea” and then take questions. Up first: @BernieSanders
Bernie's big idea: "ending endless wars" — talks about his opposition to the Vietnam War, Iraq War and military involvement in Yemen
Bernie says he wants to see countries cut military spending to fight climate change: "Maybe we can band together to use that money to transform our energy system away from fossil fuels"
.@CoryBooker is up next. His big idea is baby bonds, aimed at targeting the racial wealth gap
Booker is asked why he's starting with baby bonds. Says he has other policy proposals including expanding the EITC, but "In America, paychecks help you get by. Wealth helps you get ahead.”
In SF, Booker, who has ties to Silicon Valley, calls out social media companies. Says he is going to make sure "these social media platforms do not become platforms for hate and bigotry."
.@ewarren is now up and her big idea is fighting corruption, as she jumps into her policy proposals: ending lobbying, creating an ethics agency to enforce conflicts of interest, make everyone who runs for federal office put their tax returns online
Q: Do you agree that there is sexism in the 2020 race?
Beto: "Yes, absolutely. There is disparate treatment of these candidates. There are advantages I brought into this race that I did not earn."
After a brief break, we're back with @SenGillibrand, who is presenting her big idea: national paid family leave
.@KamalaHarris dances as she walks on the stage. Her big idea: equal pay
Harris says she will shift the burden from the employee to the employer to ensure men and women are paid equally
A man just jumped up on the stage and took the microphone from @KamalaHarris. She exited the stage as he was carried off. She just re-entered to "Kamala" chants.
On Medicaid-for-all skeptics, Harris says: "Ain't nobody trying to fight for their insurance company."
For people who are worried about losing their doctors, she adds: "91 percent of all doctors are in Medicaid right now"
.@JulianCastro now up at the #BigIdeas Form. On Monday, he is going to unveil a plan to reform policing in the U.S. Gets loud applause as he names people of color who have been killed by police officers.

Disagreements over how to allocate resources in the closing days are a common occurrence in a presidential campaign, but what has made these disputes, which have not been previously reported, more serious is that the split has broken along racial lines. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Joe Biden will deliver remarks shortly in Kissimmee to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Eva Longoria and Ricky Martin will be in attendance, per the campaign.
Eva Longoria and Ricky Martin now speaking ahead of Biden

Kamala Harris is about to appear at her first of three fundraisers this afternoon. First one is a conversation with the American Jewish Community with her husband Doug Emhoff, who is Jewish.
"My Jewish identity has played such a huge role in my life," Emhoff says.
He also adds: "I'm now on leave from the first so that I can work full time to help Joe and Kamala win."
Harris on whether a Biden-Harris administration would continue unconditional support to Israel: "Joe has made it clear that he will not tie security assistance to any political decisions that Israel makes and I couldn't agree more."
We are awaiting Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware where he will deliver a speech on Trump’s COVID-19 response and how a Biden adminstration would respond differently. A preview of today’s speech w/ @jenepsbloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Also, microphones are set up by the media and so we may get our first press conference with Biden since he became the Democratic nominee
Biden hits Trump for playing golf during the crisis: "Fix the shortage of PPE for our health care workers before you tee off another round of golf."
Joe Biden says his campaign raised $7.6 million from 175,000 contributors for his fundraiser with Barack Obama
“There’s nobody I trust more to heal this country and get it back on track than my dear friend Joe Biden,” Obama says.
Obama urging supporters to get more involved, says, "Whatever you have done so far is not enough," adding he holds himself, Michelle and their kids "to that same standard."
