After doing the nomad thing for a while, I’m more excited about this than free travel. I’m a homebody now. 👴🏻
👨🏼🏫 First, points accumulation:
I got the Bank of America Travel Rewards card for business. Most people get AMEX, Chase, etc. I have those too and like them.
This card is amazing for its flexibility though.
Meh not amazing.
However, their highest Preferred Rewards tier gives you a 75% boost. Every $1 spent = 2.625 pts with no cap (!)
Book flights, hotels, Airbnb’s, etc. Then apply the points to cover those charges after they post.
This means you’re not limited to specific travel portals. Find deals on any platform.
When reimbursing travel charges 1 point = 1 cent ($100 = 10,000 pts)
My largest expense was Airbnbs.
You can’t use AMEX / Chase Points to book Airbnb’s.
The Bank of America Travel Rewards card can though! I began shifting all company expenses from AMEX to BofA.
The next logical step after Airbnbs was to see what other charges were viewed as “travel & accommodations”
Last week I signed a 6 month lease on an apartment...
I thought to try the card.
(If it didn’t work I’d just reimburse my co.)
🤯 When the rent posted... boom there it was, available in the portal to be reimbursed with points (at $0.01 per point)
My business has a good amount of monthly expenses that go on our cards.
I saved up well over 1m+ points before doing 5 months of extended travel.
🙅🏼♂️ Don’t get into debt to do this.
We pay off all card statement balances at the end of the month. All of these benefits don’t make sense if you carry a balance due to high interest rates.
Please use responsibly.
He introduced me to this crazy world of credit card points.
🤓 It’s been a weird hobby of mine ever since.
You can get a free WeWork Global pass as a benefit with the AMEX Platinum biz card.
Every day I can get a desk at any WeWork in the world.
The WeWork here is a 2 min walk from my apartment.
