Republican lawmakers should be asking about Rosenstein aide DAAG Tashina Gauhar.

Did Rosenstein order Tashina to write a 5/16/17 memo about a 5/8/17 meeting on the firing of Comey?

Mueller appointed on 5/17/17 - the day after Tashina's "obstruction memo" ImageImage
5/16/17 was the same day that Tashina was passing Rod Rosenstein's talking points to Peter Strzok. Image
5/16/17 - the same day Tashina finished her pro-Rosenstein "notes" on various earlier meetings re: Comey..

She was calling Lisa Page at 11:36 PM discussing reviewing documents.

By now they all knew Mueller would be appointed the next day. Image
Interesting wording: Tashina "recorded all these notes during one or more meetings on May 16, 2017"

"One or more meetings" the day before Mueller was appointed.

Meetings to get their story straight. Tashina transcribed the official version. Image
On those Lisa Page/Tashina talking points discussed on 5/16/17:

The Mueller report references a "Page Memorandum" that recorded the "events of 5/16/17."

The "events of 5/16/17" are likely the DOJ meetings the day before the Mueller appointment. Talking points. Image
Another curiosity: the Mueller Report makes no mention of a Tashina 302 (interview) - yet Special Counsel records indicate they asked her about the origination of the 5/16/17 notes.

"Guahar determined that she likely recorded all these notes . . . on May 16, 2017" Image
Tashina Gauhar history:

Tashina was at the NSD directly under John Carlin - who resigned after failing to notify the FISC of abuse.

See this excellent piece by @themarketswork

themarketswork.com/2018/05/21/joh… Image
@themarketswork At NSD, Tashina classified this letter to a FISC judge detailing "overcollection", "compliance incidents", and unauthorize access to "Section 702-acquired information."

dni.gov/files/document… Image
@themarketswork Tashina was transferred from NSD, had a very close working relationship w/ Deputy AG Sally Yates (before transferred to Rosenstein).

"All aspects of the NSD went through Tashina." ImageImage
@themarketswork Based on the testimony of DAAG Toscas at NSD --

For the Trump/Russia/Flynn investigation, Tashina would have been the Office of Deputy AG (Yates) go-between for NSD and DOJ/FBI leadership.

NSD >>> Tashina >>> Yates/etc Image
More on those 5/16/17 meetings...

That's the date Rosenstein allegedly suggested recording Trump and using the 25th Amendment against Trump.

Tashina may be a witness. Get her under oath. Image
Confirmation from the new McCabe memo.

Tashina was at the meeting where Rosenstein allegedly offered to wear a wire. ImageImage

We are live for the Kevin Clinesmith sentencing hearing.

Clinesmith is charged with altering an email - falsifying a document - in an effort to get the 4th Carter Page FISA warrant.

Judge Boasberg has entered the hearing.

Follow this thread for updates. Image
Judge starts by hearing from Carter Page:

The national media accused me of being "an agent of a foreign power"

I've been harassed in person.

"I know what it's like for your life to be destroyed"
Carter Page:

I first collaborated with the CIA while in the military. I never betrayed that trust.

My life "spun out of control" due to the false allegations.

I had "no privacy" - everything was monitored by the gov't

They physically searched my belongings and hotel room.

Edward Snowden exposed the worst 4th Amendment violations in US history: the unlawful collection of data on millions of Americans.

His fight was on behalf of the American people.

For that @Snowden deserves a pardon from @realDonaldTrump Image
Recall what Snowden helped expose:

1) The illegal collection of metadata of millions of Americans

2) NSA plans to "Collect it All" and "Exploit it All"

3) Economic espionage and the abuse of private data ImageImageImage
Forget the clichés and talking points of pundits and gov't officials.

Instead, read the source documents hosted by @ggreenwald

They show the scope of domestic surveillance abuses and global US operations.

The DOJ has filed its Kevin Clinesmith sentencing memo

They want incarceration.

DOJ: Clinesmith wasn't just altering e-mails - he was lying about Carter Page in DMs to the FBI agent.

Thread. ImageImageImage
Why the Clinesmith lie was material:

"It would raise the issue of whether [Carter Page] had those interactions with the intent to assist the US gov't."

It would go to the "loyalties" of Carter Page.

Clinesmith knew FISC needed to be informed.

@AWeissmann_ disagrees 🤦‍♂️ ImageImageImage
Clinesmith's lies "allowed the FBI to conduct surveillance" on @carterwpage thru a FISA application that "lacked probable cause"

He violated the duty of candor to the FISA court. ImageImage

We have Ghislaine Maxwell's unsealed deposition.

Question: Did you invite minor Virginia Giuffre to Epstein's home?

Maxwell: "She came as a masseuse."

Thread. Image
Ghislaine Maxwell admits that Epstein's masseuse was a minor.

Maxwell: "Virginia Roberts (Giuffre) who you are referring to was a masseuse aged 17."

Was [redacted girl] 13 years old when you met her?

Maxwell: "I have no idea." ImageImage
Maxwell evades the questions -

Question: Did the massage therapists "perform sexual acts for Jeffrey Epstein?"

Maxwell: "I don't know what you mean by sexual acts." Image

DOJ produces new Flynn evidence - 1/25/17 Notes FBI OGC lawyer notes.

Logan Act: "no reasonable prosecutor" would proceed.

Flynn call w/ Kislyak similar to "other transition teams"

"First time to use [Logan Act]"

Thread. Image
TOP FBI lawyer James Baker:

"How do you assess § 1001 (false statements) when you wouldn't prosecute the underlying crime?"

Big concession that this wasn't about the broader Crossfile Hurricane investigation. Image
Assessment of whether Flynn is in a "covert relationship w/ Russia":

"No, probably not based on facts to date and interview."

Will be necessary to compare this to the Flynn NSLs handled by Clinesmith. Possible predication issues. (See pic) ImageImage

🚨Flynn update - Interview 302 from FBI Agent William Barnett

"BARNETT believed the prosecution of FLYNN by SCO (Team Mueller) was used as a means to 'get Trump'"

Thread. Image
Agent Barnett was assigned to Crossfire Razor (the Flynn counter-intel investigation).

Barnett was later assigned to the Special Counsel team.

Barnett: the predication for the Flynn investigation was "not great" Image
Crossfire Hurricane source (likely Halper) accused Flynn of leaving a 2014 event with an undisclosed person.

Perhaps @RealSLokhova

FBI assessed this information to be not accurate Image
