Since the beginning of the Trump Admin, @DHSgov has abused their power and stolen millions from critical national security projects & accounts to fund Trump’s deportation agenda in @ICEgov. Here are just a few of the accounts they’ve robbed from ⬇️
@DHSgov@ICEgov Last year, ICE stole $9.8 million from FEMA. That same year, Puerto Rico slowly recovered from Hurricane Maria and wildfires devastated communities across California.
@DHSgov@ICEgov ICE also took $29 million from the US Coast Guard and over $34 million from TSA. These agencies are on the front lines of keeping Americans safe and interdicting drug trafficking.
@DHSgov@ICEgov That’s not all – ICE stole millions from multiple Homeland Security accounts to ramp up detention & deportation of immigrant families, including those who have made a home here in this country. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
@DHSgov@ICEgov In all, ICE went against Congressional intent & spent $202 million to enforce an anti-immigrant agenda and terrorize immigrant and Hispanic communities. What was this $ spent on?
Detention beds, amounting to $93 million over their allocated budget from Congress.
@DHSgov@ICEgov This is much further reaching than just ICE. In all, DHS spent over $4 billion last fiscal year for Trumps deportation machine. Billions to raid our communities, tear apart families, and leave children orphaned. Billions on imprisoning immigrants. immigrantjustice.org/staff/blog/ice…
@DHSgov@ICEgov Instead of prioritizing criminals & nefarious actors, Trump is building a deportation machine in order to target immigrants with deep ties to our communities.
@DHSgov@ICEgov President Trump is choosing to undermine public safety by robbing critical FEMA, TSA & Coast Guard accounts along the way.
For the sake of good governance, Congress must stop this waste & abuse by the Trump Administration.

Iris and her baby have been living at this camp since July.
She was turned away from the US by CBP, assured that she and her child would be able to live in a shelter.
Instead, she’s begging on the street, waiting for her asylum interview in December.
A Mexican immigration official stated, “The US is the one who is lying to them. I tell them the shelter doesn’t exist. The US should be the one giving them aid — that’s who they are asking for asylum.”
@USCCRgov The USCCR report found that the Trump Admin:
❌ Created a humanitarian crisis
❌ Separated families & traumatized children
❌ Discriminated against Latino migrants
❌ Inflicted inhumane, prison-like conditions
❌ Denied justice & legal rights
@OIGatHHS .@HHSgov faced unique challenges in addressing the mental health needs of separated children, who suffered fear, abandonment, post-traumatic stress, & anxiety. Some cried uncontrollably from “acute grief.”
Of course they did – the Trump Admin tore these kids from their parents.
@OIGatHHS@HHSGov Stunningly, this report reveals that ORR staff did not know how to seek approval or consent to treat traumatized children with psychotropic medication. The lack of clarity on this process is unacceptable and disturbing.
Your administration has undermined every bipartisan, bicameral effort we have pursued to help our nation’s Dreamers by making hyper-partisan and radical demands. /2
