The latest Leftist media-fueled outrage involves a Trump administration change in which agency processes requests for foreign nationals' (f/n) requests for deferred action based on special medical status. Basically the f/n can request to stay in the country to seek medical care.
It's a program that has been around for years. If a f/n has an extreme medical condition they can't get treatment for in their home country, they may be able to get a 2-year deferral to stay in the U.S. while seeking treatment.
USCIS has always processed these requests and made the determination whether or not the f/n can stay in the country for treatment. Recently, UCSIS transitioned ownership of request processing to ICE.
But, lo and behold, the fake news media has been spreading the lie that Trump cancelled the program. Leftists are having a fit. As usual, the lie has been spread far and wide. Trump is a bigoted monster. He is sending kids back to their countries to die, they say.
@Vice wrote such a story titled "Literally Deporting Kids With Cancer: Trump Just Cut Back A Program That Shields Sick Immigrants From Deportation". Eventually, when they couldn't hide the lie, they changed the article and article title to reflect the truth.
But, as usual, they didn't tell anyone about the update. They just did it quietly. By that time, the damage was done. Search Twitter for "literally deporting kids" and see how many times it was shared. This is disgusting.
You can see that even though the source code of the page has changed the title to "ICE Took Over a Program That Shields Sick Immigrants from Deportation. Here's How That's Going.", when you share the article, it still shows the old title.
This is how our highly unethical Leftist media outlets perpetuate lies and create outrage among the dumbed down populace. And they rarely make an effort to fully retract and correct their fake news.
