The latest Leftist media-fueled outrage involves a Trump administration change in which agency processes requests for foreign nationals' (f/n) requests for deferred action based on special medical status. Basically the f/n can request to stay in the country to seek medical care. It's a program that has been around for years. If a f/n has an extreme medical condition they can't get treatment for in their home country, they may be able to get a 2-year deferral to stay in the U.S. while seeking treatment.
