Sticking with Wonder Womanly-esque #SupermanAnalogue examples, let's talk about #TheBoys very own, Queen Maeve! As with most of the heroes (and particularly Homelander) she's intentionally close to her inspiration as part of the satire. Image
So, while she appears to the world as this great heroine, she's privately a drunk who's disillusioned with the world. This is more nihilistic in the comic (imagine that!) But is fairly true for the show as well. Image
In the show, she's her relationships are a little more complicated, which befits the slightly greater focus on the costumed characters, relative to the comics which keeps them slightly more at a distance. For example, we know a decent amount of relations she's had with civilians. Image
Both versions had some kind of relationship with Homelander prior to the story...which is equally gross but for different reasons... Image
Also, she has a strange relationship with Starlight. It begins seemingly cold, but there's a protective nature to it that manifests over the series. Image
In the Pantheon of characters, she's a heavy hitter, but below the biggest guns, which... Fair. That's about how Wonder Woman is usually portrayed. She's bullet proof and crazy strong, so in a setting sans Homelander she'd be the Superman of that world. Image
And I don't want to get too deep now days, since the show has a second season coming soon and I don't know yet how close it will lean, but suffice it to say Maeve is a better person than she comes off. Of all the Seven, minus Starlight, she's the most moral. Image
Maeve is a heroine who has become jaded by a truly cruel world, she's Wonder Woman if Garth Ennis were writing her. Image
