@SenJoniErnst unveiled a bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act that would roll back vital protections for Native American women. huffpost.com/entry/violence… # via @HuffPostPol
Not surprisingly, THIS: “The #NRA has been pressuring Republicans to oppose the gun safety provision and warned that a vote in favor of it would negatively affect lawmakers’ NRA rating. The gun language is nowhere to be seen in Ernst’s bill.”
@SenJoniErnst: The House BIPARTISAN #VAWA needs to be passed. Native women deserve to be protected.
And I may as well say this: a crappy bill to introduce during #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth @SenJoniErnst

Donald Trump said today to “get rid of the ballots.” #Election2020 #VoteLikeYourLifeDependsOnIt google.com/amp/s/thehill.…
Authoritarians and dictators say things like this - countries where elections are predetermined.
We have the power make our voices heard. I believe in our power. Remember the words of @repjohnlewis: “The vote is the most powerful nonviolent change agent you have in a democratic society. You must use it because it is not guaranteed. You can lose it.”

Today on #NationalVoterRegistrationDay, we must continue making our voices heard by voting. ICYMI, I endorsed candidates from across my state, who I know will represent their communities to the best of their ability.

Register today: NMvote.org
I’m happy to endorse the following candidates for the New Mexico County Commission. @Wende4BernCo from Bernalillo’s District 4, @Leah4Sandoval from Sandoval’s District 2, Alexandria Piland from Sandoval’s District 4, and Craig Secatero from Socorro’s District 2.
A lifelong Bernalillo County resident and award-winning journalist, @Wende4BernCo, is the right choice for District 4’s County Commissions office. Her life’s dedication to the truth and to the people of NM is exactly what we need in public office.

When I ran for Congress, I made climate change central to my campaign and I am serious about taking action – I refused to take donations from corporate PACs or the fossil fuel industry.

LIVE on @Netroots_Nation right now!
I focus my time on climate change because it is the greatest challenge of our time. It is our responsibility to protect our planet. It’s the connection to our Earth that sustains us, and right now, it’s the desecration of our planet that keeps our communities from thriving.
Right now, our country is facing crises that are fatefully intertwined: tens of millions of people are unemployed, the COVID-19 pandemic rages, racial and economic injustice are rampant, and the climate crisis is accelerating. AND we have an incompetent President.
