When I ran for Congress, I made climate change central to my campaign and I am serious about taking action – I refused to take donations from corporate PACs or the fossil fuel industry.

LIVE on @Netroots_Nation right now! I focus my time on climate change because it is the greatest challenge of our time. It is our responsibility to protect our planet. It’s the connection to our Earth that sustains us, and right now, it’s the desecration of our planet that keeps our communities from thriving.

Today I joined my sisters on the Democratic Women's Caucus to endorse @JoeBiden. Our statement below.

“Joe Biden’s Agenda for Women recognizes and celebrates women for their humanity and equal worth... It answers the call for transformative change that women have long demanded, uplifting & answering the voices raised in the Women's March, #MeToo movement, Black Lives Matter movement & the countless women who stood up against family separation and other injustices at the border.

On #Juneteenth we have an opportunity to reflect on the impact that Black Americans have made on our lives, the music they composed, the books they've written, the lives they've saved, & the movements they've created. Black Americans built our country and are shaping our culture. But because of systemic racism that still plagues our country, too many Black Americans don't feel at home here.

Today is one of those days that you hope never comes. Over the past several months I have traveled this country and met thousands of Americans who all had a dream of big, structural change. @ewarren built a movement across this nation, one that will never be forgotten. (THREAD) ImageImageImage Time after time I was inspired by the people we met along the way. From the phone banks in Iowa and Colorado, rallies in New Hampshire, Michigan, and South Carolina, to knocking doors in Nevada, people were moved and inspired by @ewarren. (THREAD) ImageImage

What a beautiful crowd of New Mexicans! Thank you for being here to show our strength and to stand up for the values we all believe in.

Today we are here, marching, and ensuring our voices are heard in 2020! ImageImage For years elected officials said “this is the most important election of our lifetime,” but they were wrong — THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ELECTION OF OUR LIFETIME.

@SenJoniErnst unveiled a bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act that would roll back vital protections for Native American women. huffpost.com/entry/violence… # via @HuffPostPol Not surprisingly, THIS: “The #NRA has been pressuring Republicans to oppose the gun safety provision and warned that a vote in favor of it would negatively affect lawmakers’ NRA rating. The gun language is nowhere to be seen in Ernst’s bill.”

The GOP’s decision to push toward ending birthright citizenship moves our country away from humanity and toward more division. Ill timed, this policy threat comes just days after Jewish people were massacred in their place of worship... which highlights the growing anti-Semitism, religious intolerance, and racial bigotry in our country.

Seven days from now we have an opportunity rise up at the ballot box and say ‘no more’ to this sickness of hate in our government.

This is the loudest conversation about Native Americans since Standing Rock. It's unfortunate that so many are missing the mark and resorting to outright racism and stereotypes (mostly @FoxNews), rather than taking just a minute to educate themselves about our history. @FoxNews My daughter is a Pueblo woman. She grew up in a Pueblo household, learning our family history, culture, and traditions. That being said, she doesn't meet the blood quantum to be an enrolled member of my Tribe.

Tuesday's US Supreme Court Decision in Brakebill v. Jaegar further disenfranchises Native American voters whose voices have never been adequately represented in our government. #NativeVote18 The Supreme Court Justices know that many Native American voters living on tribal lands do not have street addresses, and in requiring a street address to vote discriminates against them, which snatches democracy from their very hands.

Today’s vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was disappointing, with an impact that will reverberate for decades to come. In particular, Mr. Kavanaugh’s confirmation sends a clear message to women and girls: you don’t matter. #BelieveSurvivors #TakeItBack The GOP has appointed a man who believes birth control is abortion and that abortion is illegal to the highest court in the land, an institution that is meant to protect and represent the freedoms of all people -- men, women, and children of every race, religion, and ethnicity.

Brett Kavanaugh appears to believe he is entitled to a seat on the Supreme Court —but he is not. Survivors have risked their lives to speak up about his character, and our nation owes them a great debt. Kavanaugh’s testimony today was deeply disturbing. His willingness to yell at, badger, and ignore sitting US Senators who are women point to deeply disqualifying character flaws.

Today I had to honor of being the keynote speaker for Renew Oregon’s Women in Climate event. For me, climate change is personal. ImageImageImageImage As an activist and community leader, I felt the need to go to Standing Rock because I believe the health of our earth and environment are the most important factors for the future of our children and grandchildren and their ability to thrive.
