Namaskara @Tejasvi_Surya. Residents of JP Nagar 9th phase, Anjanapura and the neighboring areas are suffering due to garbage related issues in their surroundings. There are landfills, garbage segregating units, illegal burning of garbage and illegal dumping of garbage everywhere.
This has been an ongoing issue for over a decade. Multiple complaints have been made and the issue can be seen discussed on the internet as well. When complained to BBMP, a temporary solution is given to 'resolve' the complaint but nothing has changed.

ichangemycity.com/delhi/complain…
The development of the area has been stalled for over a decade due to this problem. Potential buyers refrain from buying sites around this garbage disposal unit and owners of sites don't construct their houses due to the garbage nuisance

mybdasites.com/viewtopic.php?…
Garbage isn't properly disposed in the unit. Instead, as you can see in the video, it is strewn around on empty sites and next to the streets. Even BBMP commissioned garbage collectors sometimes dump the garbage outside the unit and leave.

deccanherald.com/city/bengaluru…
The garbage lying around is burnt frequently either by miscreants or the pourakarmikas themselves and this causes the whole area to be engulfed by toxic fumes. The landfill has polluted the ground water and the whole thing is slowly killing the few people who reside nearby.
Home owners who built their houses before the garbage issue started are at high disadvantage. They can't live in their houses because of the pollution but they also can't leave since one can't sell or rent their houses.
This whole issue has created a vicious loop where the area remains uninhabited due to the dilapidated condition of roads, public facilities, etc. and the conditions don't improve since no one lives in that area.
I kindly request you to please take a look into the matter. I know citizens mustn't complain to their MP for issues that come under their local civic administration but we haven't found any solace from the civic authorities and see you as our last hope.
I would be happy to furnish more information and share the exact location if you take up the matter. @Tejasvi_Surya @RishvanjasR 🙏

@krishashok I would like to correct you. Technically, yes, the green beans and kidney beans belong to the same species of beans, Phaseolus vulgaris. But they are two different cultivars or varieties of beans which have been bred for different purposes.

Green beans, also called...
@krishashok ... French beans have been bred to produce thick, succulent, edible pods with small seeds whereas the kidney beans have been bred to produce tough, leathery, inedible pods with large seeds.

You can see the seeds of French beans in the picture below which are sold commercially. Image
@krishashok You can see the seeds of the kidney beans below.

Both varieties of beans start out the same with a green (or other colors) pod but quickly develop into different kinds of beans. The green beans grow on short bushy plants while kidney beans grow on long climbers. Image

Made a few comments yesterday on a thread by @omarali50 where he retweeted an old tweet of @ARanganathan72 about the mistranslation of the Nazi symbol 'Hakenkreuz' as 'Swastika' in english.
The ensuing exchange threw up some interesting questions... 1/n
1. When was the word Swastika used to describe the Hakenkreuz in English?

2. When was Hakenkreuz adopted as a symbol of Nazi ideology?

3. Was the symbolism of Hakenkreuz influenced by an ancient Aryan identity or christianity?

Did I get it right @vgan15? 2/n
Swastika started getting attention from western academicians in late 19th century and really shot up in popularity during the 1880's. In late 19th or early 20th century, Swastika would been one of the most popular good luck charm appropriated by the west 3/n

@shrikanth_krish As a relative 'grown up', I can accept that rote learning is good. But it's not been too long since I was a student and I still remember why I hated it them....

1/n
@shrikanth_krish Rote learning might be beneficial at primary school level but I remember having to rote learn programs in C in my first year of bachelor's. In our exams, unless we 'wrote' down the program that was 'taught' to us, we were not allowed to run them on the computer. 2/n
@shrikanth_krish In primary and high school exams, we were expected to write the same answers that were dictated to us in the classroom. If we deviated from the 'written word', we were penalized. 3/n
