7 trains this morning. Contract awarded based on 17 trains #OTTlrt@OC_Transpo
17 somehow turned into 15 (never fully explained) so weekday peak became 13 with 2 spares.
Weekend is supposed to be 11. Now @OC_Transpo is 4 short on final weekend of Winterlude.
Yesterday there were gaping holes in information @OC_Transpo said there were 4 transponders damaged and 4 trains suffered flat spots on wheels because of “debris” on track...won’t tell us what “debris” is..that probably means ice and snow..too embarassed to admit.
For this to be “fixed” they need at least two solid months of full service with no major issues and simple, minor delays. They are nowhere close #OTTlrt
The public has lost faith. What should be an amazing addition to a fantastic city has become a punchline.
There is no trust on council. Every time anyone suggests a real question about what has gone wrong, they are met with a wall of obfuscation or outright silence. This has been going on for years.
Appreciate I am not there every day. I am not a city hall columnist and don’t pretend to be. I challenge anyone to contradict the above truths.
Like most transit riders I have deep fatigue with this story. I just wish the system would come close to delivering what was promised. end.
Just 7 trains running this morning on the Confederation Line
It's a new low for Ottawa's LRT system - just 7 trains are in service today. ottawa.ctvnews.ca/just-7-trains-…
now up to 8 trains.

So if I understand this correctly...here's what I should do NOW as a parent: If my child has a headache or a runny nose...don't run and get a #COVID19 test like we were supposed to a few weeks ago...call the doctor.
Also...new today...my child clears these symptoms after 24 hours...they can return to school WITHOUT a negative #COVID19 test
Also...as my child clears the headache...or runny nose...the family now DOES NOT need to isolate as well?? Despite what we have been told for weeks...do I have this right? I have no idea who to ask...or how to confirm this for the @ctvottawa audience...
Breaking: tragedy growing in Almonte.
CTV Ottawa confirms there are now 10 residents dead at Almonte Country Haven that has seen an outbreak of #COVIDー19 more here ottawa.ctvnews.ca/10-covid-19-de…
This home has 82 residents. 20 confirmed positive for Covid with 6 swabs still waiting. 10 are now dead. It has spread in a devastating way. Unthinkable for families. These people are our most vulnerable citizens.
Families say employees are doing their best. The home is old. 4 residents to a room separated by curtains. And it is full. Isolating residents with #COVIDー19 is very challenging.
I believe Ottawa’s Medical Officer of Health @VeraEtches This is not hysteria. She’s trying to save the lives of vulnerable people. Do what she says. Nothing else matters now.
Italy, Spain and France all have universal health care. Thousands are dying. This is not the time to hide from numbers. It is coming.
This is not the flu. My parents. Your parents. And thousands of our fellow citizens need us to change our behaviour NOW.
