If the news is bad, put it on the front page. When bad news turns good, bury it. This is one of journalism’s weaknesses. Yesterday’s 1300 point stock market gain, the largest by number in history, is not front page news in the NYT or WP.
The WP went long on the bad news and short on the good:
I watched CNN from 8:10-9:10 this morning. Not one mention of the stock market gain. The plunge last week was covered extensively. However, CNN did run a Bloomberg ad that pointed out the market drop and blamed it on Trump.
My point is the importance of our nation having an informed electorate. We still depend to a large degree on the media informing us. If the media only covers one side of the news, how does our country stay informed?

Trump’s job approval hits the highest level of his presidency. It’s no coincidence that many resistance reporters want to take his Coronavirus briefings off the air.
MSNBC, CNN and FOX are all taking the President’s news conference live right now. Good for them.
In NYC, the CBS, NBC and ABC affiliates are also taking Trump live now. Also good to see.

Bernie has a good shot at winning WA and ND next Tuesday. Biden wins MS. I don’t have a good feel for ID. MO should be close. MI is the big prize. It’s younger and trends liberal. Biden is up in the polls, but Bernie can still win there. The D primary is still a fair fight.
The 3/15 debate will be of huge importance. Bernie needs to do two things: 1) Raise Biden’s many “bad” votes and make the case he’s out of step w Ds. Iraq. Trade. Long prison sentences. Social Security cuts. (Bernie must do better w seniors)
2) Make the case that he is the heir to the Obama progressive movement. Biden was put on the ticket to “balance” Obama. Bernie takes what O started and extends it. Bernie needs to broaden his base. He should try to steal the Obama mantle from Biden.

Could it not be more obvious that Russia wants to mess with the US and make us turn on each other? Of course they’re interfering. They always have, back to the Soviet days. It’s easier now with the internet and the openness of our society. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
But the only people who fall for it are Ds and many in the media who keep blaming Trump. It was Obama, Comey, Clapper & Brennan who got duped by the Steele dossier, took it seriously, briefed Trump, and then leaked news of the briefing, igniting a 3-year debacle about collusion.
We should not give Russia what it’s looking for. Blame Russia. Not Trump. Not Bernie.
