I guess that any look works when the person wearing it is young and in shape, even skin tight white with gold and red accents! I guess that's why no one in the Supremacy has any issues. It's a whole heaven for #SupermanAnalogue characters who've been retconned out of existence! Image
I covered Supreme a long time ago, but the nutshell is early Image expy of Superman who was vain and violent, with a shifting origin. Then Alan Moore came in and rebooted the character (Ha! Classic Moore!) And did so by having him actually meet all of his past iterations. Image
Traveling to a place out of continuity, he discovered a vast metropolis made in his archetypal image, populated by versions of himself and his supporting cast. Image
Each aspect of this world was a shout out to the history of Superman and his analogues (for example, The Sergeants Supreme were modelled after the Lieutenants Marvel). Every character was a deep cut reference to the twisted lore of comics. Image
Under the leadership of the Silver Age Supreme Supreme, the Supremacy was forged into a utopia, repleet with iconography of Thor's hammer (a call back to early Supreme comics where he had bested Thor and taken his hammer) and skyways to soar through! Image
Even variations from Imaginary Tales were represented! Giants! Monochromatic Twins! Fucking telepathic horses! Image
And, as with the Viltrumites, it would be gratuitous to go over all of them (plus I covered several already), but it's nice to imagine that all those heroes that are gone but not forgotten have a Valhalla to take refuge in. A world of gleaming light guarded by argent avengers! Image
But... For a paradise of light to exist, there's a dark twin. Darius Dad, the Lex Luthor equivalent of the series died and found a realm populated by twisted copies of himself (including showstopper, Darius Duck!!!). When they discovered the Supremacy's existence, they attacked! Image
This led to a war of realms with terrible decisions made to ensure victory by the forces of good... Image
See, the hyper-violent 90s Supreme (not to be confused with Grim 80s Supreme) also found his way to paradise but that guy was a prick so he was imprisoned deep within the Supremacy. Seeing no other option, he was released... Image
...and did what he does. Winning the war, but also using Silver Supremium to strip the others of their powers, leaving him the only Supreme. Which was fitting because this was the story that brought the series back to Image. Image
The Supreme relaunch was an interesting book. Sadly it wasn't a long run before interest faded. Image
Oh, I do recommend
@warrenellis
's "Supreme: Blue Rose". It's a cool sci-fi take on the Supreme revision cycle. However, it's not very superhero-ish. Image
However, regardless of the twists and turn that revisions can have on canon and continuity, somewhere out there is a paradise for Supermen. Image
