@connorobrienNH The news began circulating on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning. Glenn Fine, who was acting Pentagon IG, had been named by his colleagues to oversee the coronavirus panel.

But Trump named the EPA inspector general to take Fine's position, negating Fine's appointment.

The law charges the panel of IGs Horowitz leads with picking the head of the new coronavirus panel.

The Schiff/Murphy proposals both feature 10-member commissions composed exactly like the 9/11 commission — with equal D/R membership and the president naming a chair.
