As you may know, income reporting has been suspended until Friday 3rd April meaning that people that were due to report their income THIS WEEK don't have to and will be paid automatically.

I have been advised that from next week people will need to report their incomes. Please let me know if you can't log on to #MyGov or get in contact with the call centre next week.

Mutual obligations are suspended until April 27. I will keep pushing for mutual obligations be suspended for the remainder of this crisis and make sure that the Government is being clear with you and your employment service providers.

You should not be going in for face to face employment service provider appointments, meetings or work for the dole activities.

I encourage you to stay in contact with your employment service providers by phone and do any meetings they request. The Government’s advice on this is not clear and I do not want people to have their payments cut off or disconnected.

Payments of the first $750 Economic Support Payment started this week. If you are eligible you may receive this any time between now and the end of the month. The second $750 Economic Support Payment will start in July.

Those who are eligible for the $550 supplement will start seeing that extra fortnightly payment after April 27.

I understand that people who have health care cards that are set to expire soon will have them renewed.

I've just moved the Greens second reading amendment in in the Senate.

The Government’s response to #COVID19 continues to see large sections of our population left behind.

1. Disability Support Pension recipients, carers, and age pensioners who receive Commonwealth Rent Assistance, none of whom will be eligible for the $550 a fortnight COVID-19 supplement and will be trapped beneath the poverty line

Today I will be seeking the support of the senate to
extend the $550 stimulus supplement to Carers and people on #DSP, to extend the Jobseeker Payment to people on temporary visas and ensure that part-time workers can’t be exploited.

I will also try to amend the #Jobkeeper package to ensure that not-for-profits will survive this crisis.

At the moment charities need to demonstrate a 15% decline in revenue to be eligible for the Jobkeeper Payment.

While this helps some charities, those that rely largely on government grants won’t be able to demonstrate the 15% decline in revenue if tied grants are included.

An update from me on #Centrelink 👇

My office has been inundated with calls & emails this week from people on Centrelink payments who have not been able to use #MyGov or talk to a Centrelink team member due to the huge spike in people using Centrelink services.

I know this is very stressful and that many people have either not been paid or had their payments cut off as a result.

Going into the weekend I want to reassure people that my team & I have spent this week following this up with the Minister who has informed me that staff are working to fix a systems error to ensure that people will be paid.
