It's true that Starmer has mostly purged the Corbynites. But he has also refrained from giving positions to people seen as particularly anti-Corbyn.
Looks to me like exactly the kind of Cabinet you'd expect given the campaign he ran. End to the tribal fighting of recent years. Fresh start.
Erm, shadow Cabinet. Getting a bit ahead of myself there.
This has the disappointing result of excluding some extremely talented and principled figures who had the bravery to point out the disaster of Corbynism early on, like Jess Phillips. But you can understand why this is the strategy, even if it feels unfair.
