As per Sahih al-Bukhari (volume 1, book 8, number 373) - Muhammad's companions even used the water already used by him to clean his posterior and rubbed the possibly fecal matter containing water over themselves. Such devotion. (5/6)
Given the above circumstances and solid evidence from sahih hadiths, and 'back to the original islamist basics' nature of Tablighi Jama'at, there should NOT be any surprise about spitting. It is halal, sorry. (6/6)
