Fellow countrymen, please don’t lie about your COVID-19 status or travel history. Getting infected with COVID-19 is not a crime; it’s no death sentence. Many have gone into isolation ward and have been discharged. In Lagos particularly, there are numerous success stories.
When you’re honest and open, you help the government to help all of us; you play a role in keeping all of us safe.
Personally, I’m not happy that Kwara now has two confirmed cases. Making all the noise about the grand cover-up was towards prolonging the lives of everyone.
When we know who has COVID or their travel history, it’s easier to prevent unnecessary deaths. Don’t hide anything COVID-related, please; it’s for your own good — for the good of everyone.

This letter by the Medical Advisory Committee of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) makes some admissions that validate my tweets about the grand cover-up of a COVID-19 case in Ilorin:

1. Para 2: The “managing professor” of the case “happens to be a relative” of the deceased. Man-know-man syndrome.

2. Para 2. After the death, the hospital received “several anonymous calls disclosing information of recent travels by the patient and his wife to the UK”...

3. Para 2. The patient was placed at A&E “on the advice of the professor who brought him”. This prof knew the right thing was to run COVID-19 tests & send d patient to isolation ward. Denial.

On Thursday, there was a COVID-19 death in Ilorin. But it won't make it to @NCDCgov's official count because the powers that be did everything to cover it up.

The bigwigs at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) knew. The state govt did, too.

A grand cover-up. 1/7
After his death, they ensured the body wasn't tested for the virus. The deceased was buried on Fri without scientific confirmation of COVID-19, but two hospital staff have been giving me deatils of events that led to his death.

You know why? They, like others, feel unsafe. 2/7
After returning from the UK, the deceased initially self-isolated in Lagos, before his professor-of-medicine-friend invited him to Ilorin, where he privately received treatment.

On Day 13, his condition worsened. so he was taken to UITH. 3/7
