Welcome to the @WIISToronto Twitter Conference, Future Security Challenges Facing Canada: Vital Insights from Women in International Security. We’ll get started with the first presentation in a few minutes, but first we have some thank yous and logistics to cover. #WIISTOTC

The #WIISTOTC organizing superduo is @irwintanya and @vmkitchen. Tanya is at the @WIISToronto controls this morning (hi!), and Veronica will moderate this afternoon’s panel at 2pm. #WIISTOTC

Starting at 10am EST, each presenter will have 15 minutes to tweet their conference presentation, followed immediately by a 15-minute conversation with the discussant. At 11:00am EST, presenters will begin to answer questions, but you can start asking them at any time. #WIISTOTC

First up is @st_martel. Stéphanie Martel is Assistant Professor at @QueensuPOLS specializing in IR, & a @QueensCIDP fellow. She studies multilateral diplomacy, the role of discourse/practice in IR, regional security governance & @ASEAN. #WIISTOTC
Her paper is titled: The “Rules-Based International Order” as a Floating Signifier: An “Indo-Pacific” Perspective #WIISTOTC. Please go ahead @st_martel
Thank you @st_martel! Discussion will be by @Fair_Decoy. Jen Mustapha is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Huron University College at @Western. She researches and teaches in the areas of IR, Critical Security Studies, & the regional politics of Southeast Asia.
Thank you @Fair_Decoy! Next up is @caredunton who is completing her PhD in International Relations at the @uOttawa, studying Canada at the UNSC. She works at the @uOttawaCIPS and was previously the Cadieux-Léger Fellow at @GAC_Corporate (2018-2019). #WIISTOTC
