I remain puzzled about how different countries will be able to successfully come out of coronavirus lockdown without cooperation, unless all travel into and out of countries is prohibited, or there is dramatic progress on the medical side with treatment.
Similarly any vaccine for coronavirus must presumably be global, in which case the logistics of production and distribution are going to be vast.
Seems like no countries really want to talk about global cooperation in this crisis, but ultimately they will be forced to do so otherwise it continues longer and costs more.
Have also been surprised by how few commentators / academics etc have been thinking about the global dimension of tackling coronavirus. Or at least that I've seen. Lots of criticism of national government response, guess that's easier.
Here's a good if all too rare example of thinking globally about tackling coonavirus from @snlester in the US - this on patents and a vaccine but he's also written on international organisations and more. nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/we-n…
Also from a former PM (h/t @Sligogirls for drawing to my attention)
