Power can be intoxicating. Power is important, it allows those who wield it the power to write laws that shape lives. In America, power has allows been checked by 3 things: ambition that checks ambition, adherence to norms, and free and fair elections. Anything that pollutes this
third aspect-free and fair elections- should, no it MUST be resisted at all costs. It's not too late, though the hour is growing late, to do what is required for democracy to survive. But make no mistake about, no matter the excuse, if you are preventing access to the
ballot box, you are killing American democracy. Power is worth a lot, but maybe not worth that.
