If the Ds fully appreciated their strength, implemented the reforms I advocate for, then yes, they would know that the Midwest was in pretty good shape and understand that unlike in '16, the expansionary vision in '20 is actually doable this time. BUT

@PeterHLemieux @DemFromCT @ijbailey @staceyabrams BC they have all the mainstream/traditional election analysts overcorrecting for their misses in '16 by giving Trump more durability than he deserves in '20, and bc of PTSD, there is no way Ds are thinking expansion in the EC this cycle. They are purely focused on shoring up the
@PeterHLemieux @DemFromCT @ijbailey @staceyabrams Midwest. And any VP nominee is probably good enough to do that but a boring, white moderate one leaves them way more vulnerable to the one card the GOP does have to play- which is to target the progressives again for 3rd party voting.
