Lots of Nigerians, even the supposed educated ones still believe #COVID19Nigeria is a hoax. Some even say the Governors claiming to have tested + are doing so to attract the fund. The ignorant ones say the virus is a big man disease.
Some state Governors think it is safe to briefly relax the stay at home order in order to celebrate Easter and for Jumat prayers
The government on its part has failed in the area of providing succour to the most vulnerable in the society because of lack of adequate and genuine data
The traders' money and market money social intervention fund data generated 5 years ago, on which the govt is relying on was haphazardly done and hugely politicized
Such data shouldn't have been left into the hands of politicians who only filled the list with few party loyalists at the grassroot and fleshed it up with fictitious names.
In my Ward, for example, only 32 names are on that list. Out of these, only 4 are genuine and the remaining 28 are fictitious. How can govt rely on such data to distribute palliative to the most vulnerable in the society?
