(Thread from Ryan Lennon Mac Fhiachrá)

The first man (left to right, top to bottom) is Steven Smith. He is a man that died emaciated and alone because, despite being in an appalling state of health he was denied ESA and told he was fit to work.
He died weighing less than 6 stone and the DWP repeatedly ignored medical advice on the severity of his condition as a direct result of the Conservatives being intent on slashing the welfare bill at any cost.
The second man is Errol Graham. He was a man with serious mental health issues.
After failing to attend an appointment, instead of putting enquiries into Errol's welfare the DWP as part of the punitive sanction scheme installed by the Conservative party simply cut his benefits off and left him to starve to death.
He was reclusive, had anxiety, and a history of self harm and suicidal thoughts. He weighed just 28kg when he died.
The third image is David Clapson. He is yet another victim of the DWP's punitive sanctions scheme, a man that had his benefits stopped after missing a single appointment.
He couldn't keep his electricity topped up and as a result could not refrigerate his insulin, leading him to die of diabetic ketoacidosis. He was found dead with a pile of CVs next to his body.
The forth man is Boris Johnson. He has bungled his response to the Covid-19 crisis repeatedly. His first response was to protect the assets of billionaires and let the rest of us get it and dice with death, just so the machinery of capitalism could keep on running unchallenged.
Even after it was clear the public wouldn't accept this, his government continued to dither and delayed implementing measures that would help control the outbreak before it hit critical mass, and as a result we are on target to lose more lives than any other country in Europe.
Boris himself became sick after acting in a completely cavalier and frankly stupid manner, touching people infected with the virus without protective gear. And he is now in hospital.
So why am I posting all of this? Boris, and his army of Conservative party sycophants practically never express the slightest lick of sympathy for anyone.
They have instituted a culture of abject cruelty costing the lives of countless innocent people in the name of an ideological desire to roll back the state and make sure the whole of British society accedes to the whims of vampire capitalism.
These are people who didn't need to die, or deserve to die. And these are policies that Boris wholeheartedly endorsed and voted for.
So when you see people on the left refusing to drop their anger towards Boris and the Conservatives, this is why.
It isn't because we're callous or because we want them to die, it's simply that we cannot celebrate the politics of people who treat others with this degree of callousness then expect the bunting to be rolled out when something shitty happens to them.
You wouldn't have seen a single Tory on the streets clapping for Steven Smith, David Clapson, or Errol Graham, and these weren't people who are victims of their own chronic idiocy but people failed by the system.
So if you're a Tory foaming at the mouth today because people won't show Boris some compassion, maybe for once you ought to put your money where your mouth is and start showing some for those hurt by your party's horrible policies.
