Beginning today, we are posting #COVID19 cases by ZIP code on coronavirus.maryland.gov. We are being as proactive as anyone in the country on this so that Marylanders can better understand the spread of this deadly virus.
The ZIP codes with the most #COVID19 cases are:
21215, Arlington, Baltimore City/Baltimore County (137)
20904, Silver Spring, Montgomery (132)
20906, Silver Spring, Montgomery (126)
20902, Silver Spring, Montgomery (125)
20744, Fort Washington, Prince George's (122)
I want to take a moment to again wish all Marylanders a happy Easter.

As of this morning, Maryland has 5,529 confirmed cases of #COVID19, an increase of 1,158 cases since yesterday. This virus continues to spread in every jurisdiction, and as I have been saying for weeks, the Baltimore-Washington corridor has become an emerging hotspot.
An increase in new infections is just one of the reasons for today’s significant jump in new cases. This is also due to our ongoing efforts to ramp up testing in Maryland, with more private labs coming onboard and the expansion of commercial lab capacity.
Today’s numbers reflect a tripling of the tests reported since yesterday. We are seeing commercial labs begin to clear their backlog of tests. More than 30% of the new cases reported today are for testing that was completed in March.

Today I announced financial relief initiatives to provide assistance to millions of Marylanders, including an order prohibiting lenders from initiating the mortgage foreclosure process and prohibiting repossession of cars, trucks, & mobile homes. governor.maryland.gov/2020/04/03/gov…
Nearly 70 of Maryland’s largest banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders, and other financial institutions have collaborated to provide additional flexibility to borrowers, such as mortgage payment forbearance or deferral and relief from late fees.
I have proclaimed a statewide moment of prayer and reflection at noon on Sunday, April 5, so that Marylanders can join together in honor of those we have lost, those who are sick, and the doctors, nurses, clinicians, health care workers, and first responders on the front lines.
