*Thread* Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle is under fire for linking to an unredacted version of the sleazy blame-shifting Labour antisemitism report. It contained the names of anti-racist activists. It was an extraordinarily foolish and reckless move. 1/14

But it was not out of character. Not in the least.

Start with this remarkable tirade when Labour lost the general election. "Fight them!" was his cry for the Conservatives. Even in the streets! He's not very good at this democracy thing, is he? 2/14

There's more where that came from. When Parliament was prorogued in September 2019, Ruyssell-Moyle took matters into his own hands. Literally. 3/14

And here is Russell-Moyle seizing the ceremonial mace in Parliament in 2018. No one had made this shabby and childish move in the House since 2009. That time, it was John McDonnell, Labour's far-left Thug in Chief. 4/14

Since the latest controversy is about antisemitism, note the MP's poor record on the issue.

In 2019, he invited a spokesman of Yemen's Houthi movement to speak in Parliament. Its slogan? “God is great, death to America, death to Israel, curse the Jews, victory to Islam”. 5/14
Cue more belligerence.

"On Sunday, Mr Russell-Moyle responded angrily to a fellow Labour MP, Graham Jones, who had criticised his invitation to Mr Alshami, calling his colleague a “tit” and an “illegal arms sales apologist”." 6/14

Margaret Hodge has been a fighter against antisemitism in Labour. So the worst of the party have attacked her.

Russell-Moyle has joined in, enlisting the tired "neo-liberalism" Corbynista curse and an antisemtic social media account as he did so. 7/14

Unequal treatment and double standards are bugbears of supporters of Israel, including the lukewarm, and rightly so.

For Russell-Moyle, by contrast, they are virtues. "An oppressor and an oppressed, if you treat both sides equally, you continue the oppression", you see. 8/14
Russell-Moyle said this in 2019 in an angry diatribe at a demonstration of the self-styled "Palestine Solidarity Campaign", a nasty hate group where antisemites flourish. 9/14
You'll see him do this again here - "we must hold Israel to a higher standard than we would an insurgency group". 10/14

Russell-Moyle has also hosted the Palestine Return Centre (PRC) in Parliament. It is a highly controversial group. Its leaders have been closely linked to Hamas and it has a record of promoting speakers who are widely seen as extremists and antisemites. 11/14

So why on earth did Keir Starmer think Russell-Moyle was front bench material? He was gifted a shadow position just days ago.

Russell-Moyle could do the decent thing and resign that position.

But his record suggests he is most unlikey to do so.

*Thread* 1/10 The far-left Labour Representation Committee (LRC) reeks of antisemitism. Last month, the stench became so bad that it admitted it had gone too far on Facebook. Then it posted a warning that new admins would delete comments and block people for “any form of racism”.
2/10 So, how is the LRC doing? What *is* acceptable? Er, not very well and just about anything goes, it seems. Look at this post alone, dismissing deep anger in the Jewish community about Orla Guerin’s BBC report on Holocaust commemoration. “BBC gets spine”, says the LRC.
3/10 The post flags a report from "Jewish Voice for Labour", a discredited group whose entire mission is whitewashing of antisemitsm in Labour. Even Momentum's John Lansman has said it is "part of the problem and not part of the solution to antisemitism".
