At this moment, Trump is attacking the WHO for "even praising China for it's so-called transparency."
Trump was asked about this discrepancy at the briefing, and how he squares his criticism of the WHO for saying the exact same things he said.

His response was "I made a trade deal with China," because words are meaningless and objective reality is irrelevant in these briefings.
No it won't. The fact that it happened is irrelevant to anyone who'd vote for Trump.
It absolutely will. It already has. He's turned tens of thousands of Americans dying into something that he brags about daily.

In 2016, the FBI took an unprecedented action against Hillary Clinton which likely could have been a but-for cause of Trump's election victory.

And nearly four years later, Republicans are still busy promoting conspiracy theories about how the FBI *was conspiring against Trump.*
Republicans got everything they could have dreamed of from the FBI in 2016: just days before the election, an investigation was opened and made public that caused measurable harm to Clinton's campaign.

Yet Republicans are obsessed with the ideas that they were the real victims.
Now it's 2020, and Trump has already long since directed the DOJ to launch investigations into his 2020 opponent. So now we're just waiting to see when Trump will start arresting members of the prior administration on charges arising out of their derpy conspiracy theories.

Trump's Attorney General is conducting an ongoing investigation into Biden for conspiring with Ukraine to frame Russia for 2016 election interference—and just dismissed the Flynn case on grounds that the DOJ was wrong to investigate Flynn's ties to Russian election interference.
And everyone is out here now acting like the 2020 election is going to be a fair and normal election that we can prepare for in the normal democratic way, and that it is not absolutely fucking clear that Trump is already using the DOJ to influence the 2020 election in his favor.
We can stop talking now about how to ensure the 2020 election remains free and democratic. Because the current President is already using the DOJ to conduct investigations that will help him in the election, and to stop prosecutions of admitted criminals who helped him in 2016.

Michael Flynn's company was caught red-handed for violating a number of federal statutes. The kickbacks he sent to Alptekin as part of the scheme are undeniable proof of the fraud Flynn Intel Group was engaged in. And he was paid by Turkey to be a secret agent on their behalf.
Mueller's decision to give Flynn the sweetheart deal of the century, in exchange for nothing of apparent value to the DOJ, was always mystifying. Though perhaps Mueller offered such a favorable deal knowing that it would be hard to compete with Trump's ability to offer a pardon.
It's as if Mueller's investigation operated under the naive belief that the DOJ was the same DOJ he'd worked for, and that it would remain the DOJ after the Special Counsel was done.

But DOJ is Trump's plaything now. And Republicans are either thrilled by it, or just don't care.
