Okay, this has shown up not just in r/aws, but also in two other subreddits I do moderate. Who's trolling me?

On the one hand, I feel for this poor schmoo.

On the other, he set up some giant things on his personal account, ignored his email for three months, and his immediate panic reaction is to sue AWS, his former employer, and/or declare bankruptcy. He's... not the most sympathetic.
"Free tier" means something very specific to @awscloud, and you see again and again and again stories like this that demonstrate it means something different to new customers.
I also sure don't love the responses consisting of "you should have read the docs," "it's your fault for not reading the email," "you should have been smarter," etc.

This would be a non-issue on @gcpcloud, @Azure, or freaking @oraclecloud.
