You see similar graphs in almost every hot spot, which immediately demonstrates how stupid it is that some are suggesting shutdowns in areas that did not have extensive community spread yet didn't have a major impact.

You can't say "we need to assess the tradeoffs related to certain actions" if you refuse to honestly acknowledge the consequences of some actions and just pretend like they have 0 impact (= just like the flu crowd).
Let me put it another way to show why comparing flu deaths/mortality and COVID-19 makes no sense: If we had similar lockdowns as we have now for flu season, flu deaths would be a lot closer to 0 than 30-60K. There would be no surge in hospitals.
One more thing. The people defending Sweden's approach are banking on all the models being wrong by factors of 5-10X, but you don't need to look at the projections to realize their approach is backfiring. Real-time data comparing to their neighbors shows it already. 
That's why I would safely bet Sweden shifts to much stricter restrictions in a week or two, and all they will have done is delay the inevitable and cause a bunch more deaths.
